My overall rating of "The Ricky Gervais Show"'s Season 1: 5/10
Karl's stories about washing up are absolutely fascinating and incredibly funny, but there are quite a few stupid bits later on, and in this episode I feel like Stephen and Ricky aren't playing off him that well, either going a bit too far and becoming elitist pricks that actually get stuff wrong or just not enhancing the comedy the way they do in some other times.
