The story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love - his teenage daughter - is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a Irish government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.Written by
The line from the #1 trailer, after Jackie Chan says: "20,000 Pounds, ("that's all I have" is also omitted from the trailer) for the name of the bombers." the line "That's not how we do things here." spoken by Commander Richard Bromley Ray Fearon is not in the actual movie. Instead Commander Bromley responds with, "To be clear, these are vicious men who take pride in their atrocities... this is our work, not yours. You need to be patient." and Quan puts the money away. Incorrectly regarded as a goof: Some viewers might notice that the number plates on the cars do not seem to conform to the format generally used in the UK, especially in the use of the letter "Z". Northern Ireland has a separate system of allocation of registration numbers, and it contains the letters "Z" or "I". See more »
I expected the movie to be a standard action movie with a weak plot. This movie surprised me on several levels. First the plot was above average for an action movie. Second, Jackie Chan turned in a subdued and very good character portrayal. Third, the movie was not the typical martial arts laden Jackie Chan performance. There were martial art scenes but they were not over done as in prior Chan movies. Supporting cast led by Pierce Brosnan were also very good. In summary, if your a fan of the action genre you will not be disappointed.
