Disappointing
kschles-6790513 February 2022
I enjoyed the original Tall Girl movie. I did enjoy this sequel, but had a major disappointment. The good....many of the secondary characters were fleshed out more and showed some growth. They were interesting. The bad...The tall girl herself was kind of annoying. She couldn't figure out her love life, and the whole "doubting voice in her head" thing was stupid. The actress was as good as ever...her musical numbers were great, but the writers really let her character down.

Why all the hate?
noju-670-81815718 February 2022
I don't understand all the terrible reviews. This was a decent sequel to Tall Girl and addressed important issues many teens go through like anxiety and negative self-talk. The pace was moderate through out with a few funny moments in between. Overall, it was OK, light entertainment. Definitely a movie to have on in the background.

First movie was Poor and lame, this is ok though
rohanumpleby18 February 2022
I said it was ok, I didn't say it was good. The troubles of being a couple and the issues of having a couple is actually put on display really well here. The struggles of being tall are put in display better then how the first movie displayed them. And the movie is funnier then the first. The characters are a bit more interesting in this movie. The movie cost like £24.4 million in this movie?..., I'm not quite sure how because nouthing added up to it for costing 24.4 million. The problems of this movie. The story is boring, also has no plot, nor is it focused on a plot, which is kind of a bad thing especially with films like these.

Ending was fine though.

Rating stands at: 5/10 Decent.

Such a disappointment
elvirakarovic11 February 2022
Silly plot, unnecessary drama and predictive development. Like they took all the cliches and put them in one unnecessary movie. I logged in after several years to comment on this one.

Repetitive
jodiedbennett11 February 2022
Honestly, these Netflix originals teen romance films are becoming very repetitive, Same story different actors, I'd recommend it for background noise.

Why does this exist
ryanwesthamfan23 February 2022
Why is this movie a thing. There was no reason to continue this story. Even though I didn't like the first one it did feel like a good enough conclusion. This one just stomps all over that conclusion in the first half an hour. It is filled with cliche drama, cliche relationships and cliche dialogue and interactions. There were lines of dialogues being written where I was left scratching my head thinking who talks like that. It is crazy to think about some of the Netflix shows that got cancelled but Netflix agreed to Tall Girl 2 and that just baffles me. Overall Tall 2 is unnecessary and I'm going to give it a 2/10.

Just a Tad Messier, but not any worse than the 1st film...
vincentlagana13 February 2022
I thought it was okay. Wasn't expecting anything to serious here. The 1st one I thought was good, at moments a little goofy. It was still a good film tho. The sequel is decent too.

Loved the first one. This is difficult to watch
lilu444-111 February 2022
Really wanted to like this :( this is beyond predictable and kind of cringeworthy. So sad. The fault is mostly writing. Actors do an ok job. But oh the writing. It is terrible.

Sweet and Funny
smithbenedikt17 February 2022
An improvement over the first movie. It's sweet and funny, and shows the value of friendship and self-acceptance. It's good to see such a positive movie for a change. I'm glad my 11 year old likes it.

What happened?
boggie475813 February 2022
Just like others have said the first movie was cute and I liked it. This second movie is a mess. It turned into this cheesy poorly acted terrible mess.... It was painful to watch..I didn't even finish watching it. Complete garbage. Did the actors forget to act between the first movie and this awful second one..not cute like the Kissing Booth 2 or To All The Boys I've Loved Before 2.... Netflix this one was just awful....

Inspiring movie!!
christin-gerald19 February 2022
It is so refreshing to see a movie aimed at young people addressing such a prominent problem that can hold us back from our potential. I think many can relate to this, we all seem to have that inner critic. I think this will empower and enable many that there is no need to be perfect and it is okay to struggle with a negative inner voice. And to know that you can overcome it. It is sad that this movie got such a low rating. I guess not many saw the meaning and power behind this what they addressed.

Our inner critic is our biggest enemy and it is so important to learn how to manage those voices to live the life we truly desire.

Starts slow but picks up
Ranbl12 February 2022
It started like a second episode of the first movie but it got better. The surrounding cast actually got better stories this time instead of the evil blonde guy and mean girl. They are better, more interesting and the actors acted better. Stig, kim and fareeda are much more flashed out.

It was fun watch after the slow start.

Terrible
yoitslinn12 February 2022
I of course didn't expect this to be deep or life changing in any way but even for a light teen movie it was truly so bad. The plot was just all over the place, the character had absolutely no depth at all and I couldn't get invested in the plot for even a minute. If you're Swedish, which I am, the terrible interpretation of the accent is very hard to get past, and why are the Swedes portrayed as so annoyingly stupid? I would have loved to see that gorgeous man in something that actually had some sort of artistic value and a story.

Waste of Time
Neon_Gold15 February 2022
This was a complete waste of time for everyone involved.

It was just a sad sack pity party. The issues were so banal and like confusing. It's wasn't even like a point, it was just like let's all sulk.

It was also so heavy handed.

One of the worst of these type of films. Horrendous movie with an awful message for teens.
aaronjconroy28 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't a fan of the first film as the character of Dunkleman is childish, toxic and controlling, yet gets with Jodie who isn't all that special but seems to think she is. This film takes the worst things about their personalities and amplifies them. So this time round, Jodie is even more arrogant and self absorbed and manages to only engage with people if it's beneficial to her. She is a terrible friend and a drama queen. She skips her best friends birthday to attend some cringe event where of course, the fake tears come out and everyone flocks to her aid. She seems to be oblivious to anyone else's situation or feelings. Bit most of all she is a fool for not moving on from the overly controlling and toxic that is dunkleman or dunkers to give him his even more annoying nickname. So, this guy, is just so unlikeable, pathetic and petty. He has no life outside Jodie, literally does not exist as a person without her. Gets jealous at everything. Is a hypocrite and a whiney little loser. Their story does not progress at all and every other charcter is only there setup more pettiness from the both if them. The only characters who are interesting and likable in this movie are Stig and Freeda where their relationship and friendship was actually written quite well. Horrendous film. The two main charcaters are so toxic to each other, its a terrible message for teenagers in relationships.

The budget of this movie was over $24 million
jeffjr-9245825 February 2022
"The average budget for a Netflix series would be 2 million dollars per episode."

Mindhunter has nine to ten episodes.

The show is cancelled due to budgetary issues.

Instead of continuing arguably the greatest show on Netflix, we got something no one asked for.

And that thing that no one asked for sucked ass.

We have to take control of that negative voice in our heads
jgardiner-871-72672912 February 2022
Yuss! I loved the cringy soppy first one so I'm here for the second. This was as sweet. Lovely, fluffy and cringy as the first one. A sweet love story for young adults. They have grown up a bit but they still have their moments of anxiety. It is the same for all of us. We have to take control of that negative voice in our heads that tell us we can't do stuff and turn it into a positive. Love it. It makes me feel happy.

horrible movie
gilgiterman13 February 2022
This movie normalize panic attacks. It's okay to get nervous but to make it seem like every nervous moment is a panic attack is absolutely ridicules, there is no character development, and everything about this movie is just bad. An actual waste of time.

Really funny

Definitely not award winning by any chance but I loved this humor in this movie I laughed out loud on multiple occasions.

Honestly better than the original, seems like it learned to take itself less serious.

Good shows canceled, but this has a sequel...
hunolimpo21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok first things first, it is like no one from the production looked at comments on the previous movie. Why? Because they use the same jokes and puns about her height and steugles that are surreal. For example, she is too tall to sit in the cinema and not be exposed to people throwing stuff at her head because she is blocking the view. I mean, idk, but in Serbia the average height of a man is 187cm, which is taller than her, and they go to the cinema just fine, I've never seen somebody throw stuff at talk people. The whole movie is making it seems like they are representing rarely tall people who are like 3m, and that no one else in a 1000 miles radius has her height, only a guy from Sweden which is literally thousands of miles away. And yes, gorls get a bit bullied if they are tall, but not all, and not all children are bullied, but even of we cpnsider this situation reality why are they focusing on what all tall people suffer and not have a more ppersonal approach. This is the reason almost nobody identifies with her.

A heartwarming, inspiring film. It has a light happy feel to it, but still has a deep meaning and message.
rannynm18 February 2022
Tall Girl 2 is a heartwarming, inspiring film. It has a light happy feel to it, but still has a deep meaning and message.

The storyline continues from the original teen romantic comedy Tall Girl and features Jodi making her way through life in high school. No time has passed-however, now Jodi (Ava Michelle) and Dunkleman (Griffin Gluck) are officially dating and exploring that new aspect of their life. On top of this major change in Jodi's romantic life, she's also starring in her school's musical. Jodi must learn to juggle these new experiences, while figuring out her own identity.

The structure of the film really stands out to me. Although this is a sequel, the storyline still feels entertaining, fresh and relevant-unlike with some sequels- and continues to grab my interest throughout. I also enjoy how different each character's personality is. For example, Harper (Sabrina Carpenter) is very confident, and knows what she wants. Whereas Stig (Luke Eisner) is more sarcastic, and still trying to figure out who he is. Representing different types of personality is a strong quality in a film-it also attracts a bigger audience, because viewers are always looking for a character they can relate to.

The message of Tall Girl 2 is to never give up on yourself. And the meaning in this story really stands out-throughout the movie they illustrate an important lesson. Overall, it's very inspiring, and makes you examine your life through a different lens.

I give Tall Girl 2 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 18. Tall Girl 2 releases on Netflix February 11, 2022. By Mikella G., KIDS FIRST!

Sequel to the solid tower built
Moviebuff_Chennai23 February 2022
Rom-com

yes, it is a perfect sequel to the Tall Girl.

Happy the both movies were available on Tamil dubbed.

The guilt factor is not prolonged here and to put on well - the love conflict played more in the sequel.

Dunckle had his more important part to play and Jodi also had good space. Other characters like Stig, Krey & farida has their bits to fulfil the casting part.

Just another timepass and I liked it....

UNBEARABLE
laurenjfree15 February 2022
Can this girl please stop whining and just shut up?? Her life is really not bad, like at all. Also wtf is up with Netflix and their obsession with putting musical numbers in romcoms?? UGH.

francinycoelho-7838716 February 2022
Bad acting, plot horrible, don't add up . I don't know why they did tall girl 2.

The budget of this movie is 24 million, I wonder where they spent the money . Because there is nothing about this movie which worth 24 millions.

The tall girl is overdramatic ..

Why netflix no one asked for a sequel to this
Kenjislamberry21 March 2022
A sequel to the cringeworthy teen romcom no one asked for . Tall girls premise is just dumb . Instead of this Netflix could have given us another season of Santa Clarita Diet . Lately Netflix has been doing alot of terrible movies like this. Netflix needs to stop making movies like this and put more of a effort and make good content .
