Trivia

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is a real toll bridge, which opened in 1864, spanning the Avon Gorge and the River Avon, linking Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset, England. Over the years 127 people have jumped or been thrown from the bridge to their deaths. There was one survivor whose skirt acted as a parachute to break her fall. See more »

Quotes

Detective Hamish Slorach: Well, gentlemen, it's been my experience that when a man chooses to diappear, he stays disappeared.
Inspector Thomas Brackenreid: [defensively] ... and your meaning, detective?
Detective Hamish Slorach: He's off on a bender.
Constable George Crabtree: Oh, sir, Detective Murdoch is a teetotaler. He practices teetotalism.
Detective Hamish Slorach: Well, then, it's a woman.
[He uses a flamboyant hand gesture to which Brackenreid reacts]
Inspector Thomas Brackenreid: You've got him all wrong. Detective Murdoch is probably the most buttoned-down man you'll ever meet.

Murdoch loses his memory
21 March 2015 | by ctyankee1See all my reviews

This episode starts off with Murdoch being chased by 2 men with guns in Montreal. He gets wounded in the arm and hides in a pub.

The female owner of the pub hides him when the men come in to look for him and he stays hidden. They tell her he is a killer. He talks to her later and does not know why the men are chasing him it has something to do with a murdered man. He has amnesia. He does not know who he is, where he is or much else accept that he was taken off the train.

He tells the pub owner Anna what he remembers and how he has to go to the apartment of the man that he was accused of killing so he can figure out what happened to him. She is very helpful and trust him. She calls him "Harry". She starts to care very much for him.

Murdoch series introduces a lot of new scientific products in the making and used to help solve crimes or commit them. This is one of them. It is a long telescope attached to a special rifle that shoots long range.

This is the first episode I ever saw where Murdoch uses a hand gun and shoots at someone. It has a good ending, very moving but also sad.
