Surviving Georgia

On one level this is a pleasant enough romantic melodrama, with two attractive single sisters, whose abandonment as children left them unable to form satisfactory relationships, but who get the chance to return to their old hometown and reconcile with their mother, and in the process find themselves and a man to love them.

But on the other hand, it's all too obvious, with all the rough edges smoothed off, and everything falling into place a little too easily. Plus there are problems with the dialogue and an insufficient discussion of the mother's character and motivations.

That said, Pia Miranda and Holly Valance are both fun and watching them will probably carry you through this film, if you're in the mood for a bit of heart-warming in an improbably beautiful country town setting. Shane Jacobson is also good as one of the reliable blokes who pursues one of the sisters to the end, but Spencer McLaren isn't given enough to do as the other bloke.
