The story of Spooky World, and its founder, a PR-savvy mix of P. T. Barnum and Stephen King who parlayed his experience working in his father's joke shop into creating the very first horror scream park of its kind, in 1991.

David Bertolino's journey from whoopee cushion salesman in dad and brother's Boston joke shop, meteoric rise in the Halloween products industry and the creation of the Boston Costume iconic superstore, industry expert witness for New Line Cinema and the creation of Spookyworld, America's first Halloween Themepark.

SPOOKTACULAR! is an intimate look inside America's very first horror theme park. Built and opened in 1991 by David Bertolino, SpookyWorld attracted over a million guests in it's first 11 years, and brought to life the iconic horror film craze of the 90's. Guests included, legendary special effects artist Tom Savini, musician Alice Cooper, Elvira, Linda Blair, and hundreds of other actors, performers and celebrities who embodied the horror genre.
