10 Killer Facts About An American Werewolf in London

Who needs CGI when you have that transformation in An American Werewolf in London? And who better to inject some dark comedy into the horror genre than director John Landis, who was fresh off of Animal House and The Blues Brothers? Here we'll take a look at 10 killer facts about An American Werewolf in London.

Teen Wolf

John Landis was barely old enough to vote when he first came up with the idea for An American Werewolf in London. 18 year-old Landis was working as a production assistant in 1969 when he conceived the idea, but nobody wanted to make his script throughout the following decade. It wasn't until his other successes that he was able to move forward, just in time for the early '80s renaissance of werewolf movies.

The Blues Brothers

Producers originally pushed Landis to cast Dan Aykroyd as David and John Belushi as Jack. David Naughton was most recognizable from Dr.

Fox Buys Female FBI Agents Drama From Monica Macer With Penalty

  • Deadline
Fox has given a script commitment plus penalty to an hour-long female-focused FBI drama from former Queen Sugar showrunner Monica Macer, Thruline and 20th Century Fox TV.

Written by Macer, the Untitled FBI Women Project (aka The Tribe) is inspired by journalist and author Doug Stanton’s interviews of women in law enforcement. It is a character-driven drama set inside the New York City field office of the FBI featuring the stories of three female agents as they struggle to balance their professional and personal lives. The series explores the personal lives of our heroines juxtaposed with the demands of protecting America from its greatest threats.

Macer executive produces with Thruline’s Ron West and Chris Henze. Stanton also executive produces.

Macer served as showrunner in Season 2 of Own’s Queen Sugar. She previously joined Nashville in Season 2 as a supervising producer rising to co-executive producer on Season 4, its last season on ABC.

Set Visit Interview with The Possession Of Hannah Grace Writer Brian Sieve and Producer Sean Robins

Last year, I was invited to check out the set of The Possession of Hannah Grace, which will arrive in theaters on November 30th, thanks to Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Entertainment. After an exorcism goes horribly wrong, the body of Hannah Grace is taken to a local morgue, but she doesn't stay dead. Thankfully, we were on set at the perfect time to witness things unravel at the morgue, and I saw firsthand how terrifying and claustrophobic a morgue can be.

Kicking off a series of interviews we conducted on set with a group of journalists, I wanted to share our discussion with producer Sean Robins and writer Brian Sieve, who is no stranger to horror, having been a writer on the Scream and Teen Wolf TV series. Keep an eye out for more interviews with the cast and crew, including Shay Mitchell and Hannah Grace herself, Kirby Johnson.

Rai Rides Global Tube Wave

  • Variety
Italy’s state broadcaster Rai is leading the way in the country’s international TV boom.

Though pay-tv Sky Italia and Netflix are churning out some edgier Italian shows for the international marketplace, the bold Italian pubcaster is now riding high after making a splash at the Venice Film Festival with the world premiere of HBO/Rai’s powerful female friendship saga “My Brilliant Friend,” based on the first of Elena Ferrante’s globally best-selling novels.

Next up are its buzzed-about “The Name of the Rose” series, starring John Turturro, and the third season of Frank Spotnitz’s hit “Medici” saga, currently shooting in Italy.

My Brilliant Friend,” which Rai fiction chief Eleonora Andreatta started developing before the book’s big success, marks a milestone for Italy’s TV industry because unlike Sky’s crimer “Gomorrah” and Paolo Sorrentino’s “The Young Pope,” it’s classic highbrow TV of the

Possession of Hannah Grace Poster Will Make Your Skin Crawl

Sony Pictures has released a new poster for their upcoming exorcism-gone-wrong horror flick, The Possession of Hannah Grace. The movie was previously going under the title Cadaver, which is a bit more ominous, but they decided to change it to something that hammers away the point a bit more directly. In any case, it's a pretty intriguing and horrific poster that gives us a glimpse of what to expect form this exorcism thriller when the trailer drops on Monday.

The top of the poster features a horribly disfigured cadaver, set against a jet black background with the movie's title plastered across the bottom. The image itself doesn't reveal much, but it's certainly enough to get horror lovers to raise an eyebrow. It also includes the alluding tagline, "death is only the beginning." If the trailer winds up looking as good as the poster, this may be something for moviegoers who

Candyman Star Tony Todd To Appear In Third Season Of Scream

Though the wait has been perplexingly long for the third season of Scream, we can at least offer something to look forward to when the slasher series does make its long-delayed return.

Bloody Disgusting reports that this next set of episodes will feature renowned horror actor Tony Todd. The performer has accumulated some noteworthy credentials in the genre over the years, including major roles in the Final Destination movies and the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, but the star is probably best remembered as the titular killer of the Candyman films. Earlier today, the actor took to Instagram with a photo of himself alongside another season 3 addition, the rapper Tyga.

‘Light as a Feather’ Creator on Tapping Into the ‘High Drama’ of High School for Hulu Thriller

  • The Wrap
In Hulu’s new thriller “Light as a Feather,” a simple slumber party game becomes a matter of life and death. But in typical teen drama fashion, just about everything else feels the same way.

An adaptation of Zoe Aarsen’s hugely popular Wattpad story-turned-novel, the 10-episode drama follows five girls who play an ill-advised game of “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board” in a graveyard and then have to contend with a potentially deadly curse.

Taking a page from other genre-inflected dramas like Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars” and The CW’s moody Archie comics adaptation “Riverdale,” “Light as a Feather” carefully intertwines real mortal peril with typical high school anxieties — splintering friendships, burgeoning romances, overbearing parents — to create a best emotional approximation of life as a teenager. Which is to say, sometimes joyful, often sweet, but mostly just terrifying and miserable.

19 Abandoned Characters Everyone Forgot

  • TVfanatic
Most shows are marketed uniquely. In a lot of cases, they draw us in with the storyline, but we stay for the characters. Not all of those characters stick around for long, for better or worse. It gets so bad sometimes that people completely drop the show from their watch list, never to be revisited.

But that is why we watch TV -- the excitement and the characters who serve as surrogates for our imaginations. So, when the time comes for a character to make her exit, it is more often than not because of a carefully crafted reason, and the audience is left to either mourn or rejoice, depending on their perception of the character.
