‘Mrs. Maisel’ Emmy Winner Rachel Brosnahan To Viewers: “Vote!”
Rachel Brosnahan topped many handicappers’ lists as the probable winner in the comedy lead actress category. So it was little surprise when she took the stage as winner for her role as an unlikely ’50s era comedian in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Her performance had already earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role as Miriam “Midge” Maisel.

Ok, there was a minor onstage tussle with presenter Tiffany Haddish who tried to wrest away Brosnahan’s Emmy statuette, but it was clearly all in fun.

Brosnahan offered the expected kudos to the comedy’s writers, creators, cast, crew and Amazon: “I’ll be thanking you for the rest of my life for trusting me with your Midge,” she said. ‘Solo’: Harrison Ford Mentored Alden Ehrenreich and Ron Howard Before They Took Over His ‘Star Wars’ Hero
Stepping into the shoes of Han Solo is no easy task, just ask Alden Ehrenreich. The 28-year-old actor best known for roles in Ya romance “Beautiful Creatures” and the Coen Brothers’ “Hail, Caesar!” is about to break into the blockbuster spotlight this May with the release of “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Ehrenreich plays a younger, more idealistic Han Solo in the prequel adventure, and he made sure to get Harrison Ford’s blessing before filming started.

Ford and Ehrenreich got lunch before production on “Solo” kicked off, and it’s during this essential meeting where Ford gave his advice for play “Solo.” Ehrenreich told Entertainment Weekly that Ford was a “real gentleman” during their sit-down chat.

“[Ford] said a great thing when I met him,” Ehrenreich said. “Tell them I told you everything you needed to know, and that you can’t tell anyone.”

The official trailer for the upcoming romantic supernatural drama ‘Beautiful Creatures’ has been released. The film, which stars Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann, Zoey Deutch and Alden Ehrenreich, is set to hit theaters on February 13, 2013. ‘Beautiful Creatures,’ which is based on the first novel in the New York Times best-selling series of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, is an intense coming-of-age love story set in the small Southern town of Gatlin. Weekend Movie News Wrap Up: December 6, 2009

It’s Sunday and that means that it’s Wrap Up time.

This week:

The box office is Blind Sided; if you go down to the woods today you might see Tom Cavanagh in Yogi Bear; Leonardo DiCaprio knows Jack Frost in The Guardians; Have you ever heard Gun, With Occasional Music? Beautiful Creatures say P.S I Love You; John Madden will Dolittle directing with My Fair Lady and it’s all in the double barrel name as Paul Thomas Anderson and Philip Seymour Hoffman find religion.

Box Office

Sandra Bullock’s The Blind Side just keeps doing better and better. The uplifting sports drama has took the top spot with an impressive $20 million after three weeks on the charts. 2009 has been a great year for Bullock and if Warner Bros. gives the actress the expected Oscar push then 2010 shouldn’t be too bad either.
