Quotes

Julia Shumway: [Opening narration, season 1] Chester's Mill is a place like any other. At least, it used to be until we were cut off from the rest of the world by a mysterious dome. Invisible, indestructible, and completely inescapable. We're trapped. We don't know where it came from or why it's here, but now that we're all trapped under the dome together, none of our secrets are safe.

Marketing ploy for sheep viewers
27 September 2013 | by marc-802-560614See all my reviews

Waste of time.

Having worked in the entertainment field for 25 years now, I'll let you in on a little secret: TV shows are vehicles for advertisers. Period. Nobody green-lights TV series' for their "art." Sad, but true.

I laugh a bit because most of these reviews include some statement to the effect of "I watched all 13 episodes and..." See? They won. They succeeded in making you watch.

Notice that this LAME-O TV series features 3-4 minutes of commercials every 8 minutes. That's Insane. This series was given the green light to make money and nothing more. And it's doing just that.

Shows like this have no set ending. They're made up as they go and will keep trudging along until the viewer numbers drop. They're riding the buzz all the way to the bank. They have no idea how it will end. If viewers keep watching, they'll keep making stupid plots up; ghosts, a sudden opening in the dome, dream sequences, whatever.

The show is stupid beyond comprehension. The characters, plot, story arc - all elements - are unbelievable. The plot is made to S t r e t c h the time so the advertisers can sink their teeth into you. This is a waste of time and nothing more than "fun-money" for Stephen King. It's NOT his book. Not even close. It shares a title and town name. That's it.

Pure, complete and total crap. And the ending of season 1 is atrocious and just makes everybody angry.

Lastly, notice how all the reviews for the show were 2 or 3 (lots of 1's too). Suddenly there are 7's, 8's and 9's. That's because Marketing hired a slew of people to "rate it up" so social media scores were higher. Don't be fooled. It's a crappy show. Don't waste your time.
