enjoyable adventure with sword swinging in abundance
This movie probably deserves a seven or seven and a half but I scored it an eight due to all the hate on here. Its a solid sword and sandal type adventure with tons of action, nice scenery and enough plot to keep things moving along at a quick pace. I was never bored, the lead actor was good, reminded a bit of a young Clint Eastwood.
I really don't get the hate on here, its a solid film. Its not Shakespeare but lets be real, Hamlet is boring as heck. So what if Nick Cage is in this, hes a solid actor so what's the beef? The biggest negative I saw was a few editing snafus but that really didn't hurt much. I had fun and to be honest, the plot was really straight out of Shane, etc. Tried and true stuff. The girls were cute and I loved the costumes and sets. Don't believe the hate, if you like action and adventure you will most likely have fun a good deal of value here...I do not lie pilgrims. As for the dimwits calling this a bad movie, there are lots and lots of bad movies out there, this is not one of them unless you are LOOKING to call it a bad movie.
