The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!

Drawn Together was a raunchy TV comedy where under constant surveillance a team of broadly defined cartoon archetypes were sequestered and forced to compete in competitions reminiscent of then-popular reality TV shows such as The Surreal Life, Fear Factor, Big Brother, and Survivor. It sounds like a term it dates itself immediately, but learning that this show limped along for three seasons and a direct-to-DVD film is a bit of a surprise. Together with a metafictional plot which relies heavily on lazily-written "shock comedy," shockingly cheap-looking animation, and a general atmosphere of sour grapes, the movie tries to tie the Drawn series.Nevertheless, The Drawn Together Film: The Movie, for all its blustering about crude jokes and "politically incorrect" fratboy comedy! It's almost implacably dull; it's likely the cardinal sin of any creative project that seems to pride itself on being tasteless.
