Don't't be slow to get this one for a family movie night, its very entertaining and has good lessons

In the late 50's, Marvin "Moe" Mobley (Scotty Leavenworth) longs to be a baseball player. However, he does not have the nickname "Slow Moe" for nothing, as classmates make fun of his lack of strong athletic prowess. Still, a boy can dream. His widowed mother is always there to encourage him and so is his scientist uncle, who works for the U.S. government's secret defense laboratory. Also, happily, Moe has a two great friends, Emily and Leon. One day, Moe looks in a box belonging to his uncle, left at the house, and discovers a pair of unusual glasses. When the young lad puts them on, he can run like the wind and whiff a bat like nobody's business. Ho, ho! Soon, Moe makes the Tornadoes, the elite little league team in his town, impressing the widower coach very much. Moe gets a new nickname, Marvelous Marvin, and a whole town of fans. But, someone may be stalking Moe, very interested in these spectacles, which may be another secret government weapon. Also, since Moe is technically "cheating", will his conscience win out in the end? Even if it means making the team lose the championship game? This is a truly fine and very entertaining film for families everywhere. The story has a nice combination of sports, science and light romance, making it attractive to boys and girls alike. The cast, although unknown actors, is great, especially Leavenworth in the title role. Then, too, the nostalgic setting and costumes are unusually attractive while the direction's pace never flags, being full of action and drama. In short, this is another superior entry into the realm of movies suitable for all audiences. Don't be slow, now, get this one soon.
