Dance Dance Danseur

I don't write reviews normally. But this anime deserves a review, so here we go. I first saw this anime on newly updated on my Crunchyroll account and normally I check everything on MyAnimeList; from seiyuu to studios, staff and OST. But this time I didn't even check that stuff and went into 'DDD' completely blind- and I f loved it. 11 episodes is far from enough for me; the chemistry between characters, the interesting tropes about ballet, the heartache and joy from the (main) characters while living out their passion. I absolutely adore this anime. When I first saw the title and the poster I thought of 'ballroom e youkoso' from studio Production I. G. and except the theme is dance/sports these are two complete different vibes/anime/settings and I loved both of them. Really hoping for a season 2, but I'm afraid there won't be one (anytime soon) in the future. It's a bit under the radar and the director is also busy with the new zombieland saga project. Sigh. Good f stuff.

I really didn't think i would like an anime about ballet. Well, I was wrong, really, really wrong.

Technically speaking, it's a wonder for the eyes: the animations are astonishing, the expressions of the characters unforgettable. Mappa did it again!

The VAs did a great job too, I especially like Junpei's voice.

Our MC grows a lot in just the first episodes, and his transformation makes him really interesting, and one cannot not find himself in his shoes, finding out about ballet's world.

It's easily becoming one of the best anime of the season, it's a shame that more people don't even try to give it a chance.

Another MAPPA winner, Dance Dance Danseur is a hidden gem of this year. It's is a ballet anime that absolutely exudes passion. From the voice acting, to the animation, to the choreography, everything felt meant to be.

Dance Dance Danseur is consistently gorgeous, especially when it features any kind of dance sequence. The movements are exceptionally fluid in what may often be rotoscoped animation for the ballet sequences.

Ballet in Dance Dance Danseur is a tool used to accurately display the harmful effects of toxic masculinity on boys, push the characters towards each other, and develop their personalities through their changing styles. Just like Paripi Koumei, Dance Dance Danseur is another hidden gem of this year that emphasize on the internal conflict pf the characters and the motive to push themselves forward.

When i saw the trailer of this anime and noticed mappa was animating it,then i fixed my eyes on this anime and I must say mappa never disappoints. I slowly fell in with this anime and I hope it continues well.
