Storyline

An adulterous couple, Nina Adler and Martin Rittner, are blown up in a beach-house explosion and foul play is suspected. Peter,Nina's husband and Martin's business partner, is a thuggish, dodgy sort but Rittner's wife gives him an alibi. A tramp, subject to memory losses, known to be in the area at the time of the murders, who participated in scams for Adler and Rittner, is also killed but again Adler has an alibi. Wallander learns that the key to the murders lies in a particularly despicable business fraud and a man out for terrible revenge for deeply personal reasons. Written by don @ minifie-1

Swedish Wallander goes all BBC Wallander on us!
31 May 2010 | by mike-h-williamsSee all my reviews

Unlike all the other episodes from this season it looked very much like Yellow Bird's BBC Wallander team had been given the reins for this story. Whilst the teleplay was especially gripping towards the end of the story the shaky hand-held camera work and bleached out visuals were a reminder of how disappointing the BBC version is in comparison with the usually more stolid and realistic Swedish version. This disappointment was compounded by the absence of two key regular characters - dependable Ebba and Wallander's best friend, Jussi! I only hope that the Swedes see the error of their ways in time for the last three episodes of season 2.
