They bring with the growth trustafarians who live Kardashian like lifestyles without jobs, tech money, and hard pressed jobless kids from the Rust Belt. The wealthy people screw up the real estate, and the rest try to get by on McJobs.

And then there's the homeless encampments.

The unprepared city lacks the infrastructure to handle all the new "hipper than thou" crowd and everyone sits in a traffic jam. Real estate costs skyrocket, but the night life goes on.

The only people who like living there are people who think it's cheaper than California.
