Quotes

[first lines]
Mercedes Jones: Is it just me, or does it feel like we have a real shot at regionals next month?
Artie Abrams: The Ohio Show Choir chat rooms have all been buzzing that about how Vocal Adrenaline has lost a step.
Kurt Hummel: I agree. The judges know all of their tricks and now that we have Jesse, they've lost their best performer.
Rachel Berry: [approaching, in a panic] You guys have to come to the auditorium. It's an emergency.

"Funk" seemed to be a summation of what this "Glee" episode was in (though it was still pretty enjoyable)
17 October 2010 | by tavmSee all my reviews

Whoa, this episode of "Glee" seemed to be all over the place in trying to be a comedy, musical, and drama without really settling in any one of them consistently. I mean, what's with Will suddenly turning on Sue with his come-ons and then rejecting her which gets Sue to becoming severely depressed? Or Jesse doing the same to Rachel, over and over again? Or Quinn singing James Brown's "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's, World" with other supposedly pregnant teens? It seemed the producers were in a hurry to wrap several loose ends before the next episode's first season finale. Still, as always, there were several entertaining musical numbers to keep one watching. And there was another touching Mercedes/Quinn moment. And despite my hesitations about what I cited above, this was another highly enjoyable "Glee" ep. So with that said, I can hardly wait to see how it all ends up for the season...
