I could not stand Cocomelon and would dread when my toddlers wanted to watch it. I never bought them anything Cocomelon and actually steered them away. This show is such a turn around. It's cute! It teaches them about feelings and going to things that kids are scared of like the dentist. They got rid of the circus music and did a great job with changing up the classic nursery rhymes. I imagine people are giving bad reviews based on the two dads but honestly, it's what these kids are going to see these days. It's well diverse and does a great job with other cultures. JJ is no longer the main character and you get to see how different families do thing. I now ask if my kids want to watch this.
The original Cocomelon (which I never watched) was incredibly hated by people that when Cocomelon Lane came out I KNEW I had to watch and review it. And I couldn't make it through the first few episodes because the songs are annoying and everything else is boring. The parents in the show feel more like props than setups, there are too many bright colors, and there is not a single character in the show. "HEY YOU! IT'S A SHOW FOR BABIES! OF COURSE THE CHARACTERS ARE GONNA BE ANNOYING. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD EXAMPLES FOR LITTLE KIDS" I don't not care. An annoying person is an annoying person, no matter who the show is for. In conclusion, if you have kids, I guess you can let them watch it, but there are much better shows out there.
My 4-month-old likes all the colors and songs from this show when she hangs out on her mat or in her bouncy chair. I didn't like the original Cocomelon because it was way too repetitive with the songs and the lyrics were poorly constructed lost so the time, but this was so much better. Catchy songs, but the show isn't just music. The kids learn new things and have new experiences each episode. The songs are different depending on the episode's content and it highlights the fun of imagination and creativity, showcases diversity and representation, and the acknowledgement and importance of different emotions and how to manage them.
My son loved the first version of cocomelon where jj can noglt talk. When watching cocomelonlane i thought that it wouldn't contain so much errors. We have now only watched the first to episodes. The errors are in the first song of abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz they switched x and w, which is really weird. We love to sing so i had the language switched in dutch with subtitles so that we can sing a long but even in the subtitles there are errors. If you translate it to dutch use the right translations and beware of grammar errors. It's also is less real. My kid felt related to jj in the other version but this one is quite fake and weird. Ik a very dissapointed mom. This was so good..
Cocomelon Lane is a huge improvement over the other series by the studio "Cocomelon". Don't mistake the two. Cocomelon Lane is a solid TV show for young kids comparable to other staples like elmo, super simple songs, meowmi family show, etc.
The language is simple. The lessons are not questionable. In my opinion it is very good programming for kids aged 2 and up. There is a lot they can learn.
It keeps my daughters attention without making me feel like my daughter is watching garbage. I feel I have to keep making the distinction between Cocomelon Lane, and Cocomelon the tv series. Because Cocomelon Lane is good, and Cocomelon is just awful.
