Sex & Nudity

  • This movie has female nudity and sex scenes throughout. Such scenes are fairly lengthy and graphic, but not particularly frequent.
  • One scene depicts Todd Farmer & Christa Campbell having sex. Campbell is shown straddling Farmer and her butt is seen while she's having sex. Briefly after that, Campbell is shown fully nude multiple times during a fight sequence.
  • A woman draws a vagina on a dusty windshield and pretends to perform oral sex on it.
  • Nicolas Cage and Charlotte Ross are seen while engaged in sexual activity. Various angles are shown during this sequence, and Charlotte Ross is shown fully nude the entire time and she's talking dirty.
  • One sequence features several naked women among a crowd who are drunk and dancing.
  • Sexual dialogue and references are present as well.

Violence & Gore

  • There are several gunfights throughout the movie. Some involve blood, some don't.
  • A young woman gets into fistfights in a few instances. Her face and body are bruised.
  • In a flashback, a man pushes a woman to a wall, holds a straight razor near her neck, and cuts it. We only see him draw the razor quickly left to right, and a large blood streak splattering on the wall. Then, we see his face in close up as he licks blood from his fingers.
  • A man pins another man's shoulder with a table leg. He then drives the table leg toward the other man (offscreen). We later see it piercied in his eye socket, with a lot of blood around it; the man is dead.
  • A man shoots another man and blows his hand off, and a lot of blood spatters; then the shooter fires into another man's leg, and a third man is shot in the chest. Another man crawls on the floor as the opponent beats his back with a human femur: the other man picks up a rifle, fires and blows his enemy into the sky; his body lights up and disintegrates, and his reddened skull falls to the ground.
  • A man accidentally buries a machete into his own skull and a woman buries a hoe into the back of the head of another man.
  • A man shoots two people in the forehead and we see a dot of blood as they fall off screen.
  • A man suffers an open wound to the knee; another man takes a pocketknife and stabs him repeatedly in the knee as the wounded man screams.
  • A woman stabs a man in the chest with a pentagram necklace.
  • A man knocks a woman to the ground, and a second man kicks the first several times, knocks him down, and steps on his face, keeping him down.
  • A clothed man simultaneously smokes, drinks, has sex with a nude woman and participates in a long gunfight with several people; he wounds all of the opponents, drops the unharmed woman and leaves.
  • Many gun and rifle barrels aim into the audience in 3D, with bullets discharging in flames. A man and a woman encounter a roadblock and a trooper tells about 50 troopers with rifles to aim at their heads.
  • A man holds a knife to the throat of a woman.
  • An FBI agent orders two police officers to find a man and "shoot to kill."
  • Men and women gather in an empty bar and a man tells them to go kill another man in one of the guest rooms.
  • A TV reporter announces that a religious sect is responsible for a string of murders.


  • There is strong, crude language throughout the movie. The main female character is pretty bad-mouthed.
  • About 48 F-words and derivatives, 1 obscene hand gesture, 4 sexual references, 9 scatological references, 6 anatomical references, 18 mild obscenities, 11 instances of name-calling, 15 stereotypical references to: women, Texans, Southerners, FBI agents, state troopers, the devil, Hell, hitchhikers, human sacrifices, and paranormal phenomenon; 3 religious profanities, 6 religious exclamations.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Many characters in this movie smoke and consume alcohol, mostly beer. The main character is usually seen with a cigar in his mouth.
  • There are several bar scenes which show bottles on tables and people drinking beer from bottles and cans.
  • A man smokes a cigar and drinks from a whiskey bottle while having sex with a nude woman.
  • In an outdoor scene, a woman holds a beer bottle and a man holds a beer can (neither of them drink).
  • A scene shows people dancing while drinking beer from cans and bottles and shooting guns in the air.
  • A man pours beer from a bottle into a human skull, points it to the audience as he speaks and spills beer forward.
  • A young woman holds a cigarette while leaning on a car door.
  • Two teenage boys light up some pot and smoke it together under a viaduct.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Viewers may find some of the violence more disturbing than over-the-top.
