John Milton is up against the clock: Jonah King, the leader of a Satanic cult, has murdered Milton's daughter and kidnapped her baby. In three days, King and his followers will sacrifice the child at midnight. Milton picks up the trail in Oklahoma as well as rescuing a waitress named Piper from her brutal, two-timing fiancé. There are odd things about Milton: his driver's license is out of date, he has a very strange gun, and he's being pursued by a man in a suit who carries FBI ID and calls himself the Accountant. Trivia
The coin the Accountant uses throughout the movie is an Obolos, from ancient Greece. In those days, Obolos were placed in a dead man's hand (or two over his mouth so the first time he opens his mouth the payment falls out into Charons hand) by mourners as payment to Charon the Ferryman, who was in charge of crossing souls over river Styx into Hades, the Greek version of Hell. This would support the Accountant's role as a retriever of lost souls.

Goofs
After Piper drives off from the diner and the Charger begins smoking, the needle on the speedometer drops to zero when the engine quits and she coasts to the side of the road. The speedometer is not controlled by the engine and would have still shown the speed. The tachometer would have dropped to zero when the engine quit running.

Quotes

A no holds barred grindhouse experience fully aware of its own ridiculousness

Nicolas Cage plays brutal felon John Milton who is thrown into hell for his crimes but escapes after cultists murder his daughter and take her baby. Armed with Satans gun and a 1969 blue Dodge Charger R/T 440, he goes after the bad guys with the help of Amber Heard. William Fichtner plays The Accountant, a sharp dressed operative of Satan tasked with bringing Milton and, the gun back to Hell. This is pure grindhouse entertainment so committed to its own junkiness that it becomes a guilty pleasure. The movie was shot in 3-D and is from the maker of the My Bloody Valentine remake.
