The Biggest Loser

Modifier

Sommaires

  • With Rebecca voted off campus after the last weigh-in, there are five contestants left in the running for the Biggest Loser. Amanda in particular is feeling vulnerable as she realizes that if she falls below the yellow line, she will be voted off. Regardless, this week will be the last week on campus for all five. They are visited by financial expert Suze Orman who relays stories of the financial individual cost of obesity. With this information, the contestants are given a quiz while running on a treadmill, with wrong answers making their treadmill experience more difficult, and correct answers increasing their financial well being. As a reward challenge, the contestants are visited by NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson. The contestants' football related challenge not only involves shedding the amount of weight they've lost thus far all over again, but has an added incentive of the winner being able to choose how to do some good for the youth of America. At the weigh-in, the contestants learn the winner of this week gets an extra reward - courtesy of celebrity chef Curtis Stone - which will assist them during their time at home.—Huggo
  • This week, the five remaining contestants get a surprise visit from financial guru Suze Orman, who talks to them about the connection between health and wealth and gives them tips on how to be financially fit when they get home. The players take a health quiz about the high costs of poor health, and later, they talk to trainer Bob Harper about leaving the ranch and the challenges they may face back home. Later, Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champion Rod Woodson helps kick off an NFL challenge involving the weight they've each lost all season. Then it's off to the weigh-in, where this week's winner will get a home visit from chef Curtis Stone to show them how to cook healthy meals after they return from the ranch. Then one contestant is sent home, leaving the four "Biggest Loser" finalists.—NBC Publicity

Synopsis

  • Open with the final five talking about last week. Amanda is fairly certain that if she's below the yellow line this week she will be voted off. The trainers show up and for some reason Jillian is incredibly interested in why Rudy elected to vote off Rebecca.

Everybody gets in the weight room. Since this is the last week on campus for everyone, the trainers are focused on making sure they will be able to keep up the pace when they get home. Through flashbacks we see how far all five competitors have progressed since the first day on the show.

Alison shows up and tells them their next step is learning about money. She brings out Suze Orman, who begins talking about the financial impact of obesity. This leads to a mini-challenge. All five get on treadmills and are asked questions. A correct answer gets them $1,000 to invest. Wrong answers result in the treadmill being made harder. Allen ultimately gets the most answers correct.

The gang is back in the weight room. Danny talks about how tough Rudy will be to beat. Allen thinks his weight puts him at a disadvantage against the heavier competitors. Bob has a heart-to-heart with the guys about being able to maintain their good habits once they return home next week. This is followed by a strange one-on-one between Bob and Amanda where they discuss how awesome their relationship is. Danny and Liz talk about the fact that they are the only original team to still remain on the show.

Challenge time. Held on a football field, each competitor must walk up the field connected to a pulley holding their original weight. They must walk to ten different stations, each time carrying a football with the weight they lost that week. The winner gets a vacation trip to the NFL Pro Bowl and $5,000 of athletic equipment to donate to the school of his or her choice. Allen starts quickly and wins the challenge rather easily.

Back at the ranch Danny sings a song he wrote about their time at the ranch. (Seriously.) For the umpteenth time tonight we get flashbacks to early points in the season. Amanda says she truly loves herself now.

Last Chance workout time. Danny and Rudy do some head-to-head treadmill work for Bob. Danny envisions the possibility oft the season coming down to the two largest men. Jillian screams at Allen for no reason. Amanda tells us she knows expectations will be low for her this week after having such a big number last week. Liz says she has to work harder than anyone else given her age. Jillian is confident Liz will be fine after leaving the ranch.

Time for the weigh-in. Alison recaps all the major storylines: Danny and Rudy are both near show records, nobody has immunity or a weight advantage, etc. She tell them tonight's winner will have a professional chef visit their home and help with healthy food preparation.

Liz is first and puts up a five pound drop (203 to 198). She seems okay with leaving the ranch under 200 pounds. Next is Rudy. After saying this was his toughest week on the ranch so far, Rudy hits a 12, moving from 308 to 296. He says he's won no matter what happens the rest of the way. Rudy has now lost the most weight ever for 11 weeks. His percentage moves him ahead of Liz into first place.

Allen needs to have lost more than nine pounds to move into first place. He comes up just short, dropping eight pounds from 238 to 230. Allen thinks he will be able to go back home and be a better firefighter. The percentage of loss places him in second place and guarantees Rudy will be in the final four.

Danny is third. Danny has to drop more than ten pounds to be safe from elimination. This week he is down 16, falling from 304 to 288. Danny is now the first competitor to lose in the double-digits for seven straight weeks. And he is in first place for the week, guaranteeing Liz will be one of the two contestants up for vote.

Amanda is last to go. If she doesn't lose more than six pounds she will be among the bottom two. Based on alliances, that would seem to mean she is done on the show. She hits it right on the nose, dropping seven pounds (193 to 186) and immediately begins crying with joy.

Rudy, Danny and Amanda are definitely in the final four. Liz and Allen will be up for vote. Given Rudy and Danny's loyalty to Allen and Liz, Amanda thinks she will be the deciding vote.

A weepy Liz thinks being in the final four would push her to lose the last 70 pounds. Allen says he wants to "finish this and finish strong." Allen takes Amanda aside and tells her that Liz' weight would make her a tougher opponent for the final four.

The vote begins. Up first is Danny who says Liz is "more than a friend" and votes for Allen. Next is Rudy who (duh) casts his vote for Liz. Tiebreaking Amanda says she could have gone two ways: game playing (Allen) or friendship (Liz). She says based on "integrity" she has to go with Allen. So Liz makes the final four and Allen is gonzo.

Allen's vignette starts with him arriving home the next day in Indiana. A huge group meets him at the firehouse. Fast forward to Allens saying he is down another ten pounds since the end of the show. Allen's wife makes a thinly-veiled reference to their sex life having improved and we see Allen donating $5,000 to the school for winning this week's challenge.
