I tried to find something nice to say but it's hard. This is a low-budget first movie that concentrates all the flaws that you can imagine : stupid story, awkward dialogues, incredibly bad acting, amateurish fights...You find yourself fast-forwarding even in the suspense sequences, hoping that the crew had at least some fun during the shooting. 2 stars for encouragement.
PS : You'll notice that the "good reviews" (10 stars ? Really ? :D ) come from people who wrote their first critique for this obscure flick and are obvious fakes.

Not a sequel, reboot or I dunno what else. Not even a homage even though we feel as if we're back into the good old 80s with Rothrock, Khan and Khan and Romeo Diaz as the composer with original movies that knew how to avert pointlessly fat scripts.
As epilectic as a Tsui Hark, without the Ching Siu Tung expertise, it looks like a present days Time & Tide, with a similar in-the-fridge 1-take sequence. With some flavors from Magic Crystal...

Some moviegoers get a hardon when someone relatively known appears on screen and does nothing else but saying 'hi!'. In such a case the director does not have much to do.
Some directors have much more to do with less. Chris Rakotomamonjy obviously is one of them, he demonstrates he has guts in each of his movies.
And in this one, more than ever. He loves movies that are no longer made today, he wants to recreate those beloved pieces we once used to track down at the Blockbuster's.
It's so amusing to see this guy having so much fun and courage exactly when Guillermo del toro and wachowski bros miss their target and lose everything they believed in. CR is not necessarily the future but he's certainly a refreshing creator in this dry cinematic world.
His last movie has lots of flaws but maybe i should say 'floves,' the kind of flaws that smart and educated people love, the kind we can see in the original Evil Dead or in Snake in the Eagle's Shadow.
Some takes and shots reveal there is personality and thoughts behind. It's no Hitchcock for sure but it's certainly no traditional yesman. Thanking Jeff Nichols in the end credits? No surprise.
And thanking Bill Mantlo and Jim Shooter too? Can't wait for the next movie, man!

Suggested by Prime Video, it was a pleasure to find out a new movie from an unknown name.
The story takes place in a big house held by a young lady looking for a job. Because of an accident, her journey will go through a nightmare.
I had a outstanding moment watching this movie, especially during the 2nd part, entirely dedicated to a huge gunfight and martial-arts fightings.
The film-director looks clearly inspired by great names such as Dario Argento and John Carpenter. I also loved the reference to Friday Night Lights (best TV show ever made).
If you like nonstop action movies, watch Home-Sitters !!!!

Home Sitters is a film that, despite its evident low-budget constraints, manages to offer some enjoyable moments. The film's charm lies in its earnest effort and unique premise, which kept me engaged throughout. The concept of the story is intriguing and shows potential for a memorable narrative.
However, the film's low budget is quite apparent, from the simplistic sets to the occasionally amateurish special effects. The fight choreography, in particular, could have been more polished; the action scenes often lack the fluidity and impact needed to make them truly exciting. Additionally, while the ending concept is creative and adds a nice twist, its execution could have benefited from a more competent production team.
Overall, Home Sitters provides an enjoyable watch with a promising concept, but its budget limitations and uneven execution prevent it from becoming a standout film.

I would say that I was not expecting such technical quality for a low film budget!
It's one thing to watch a Hollywood production but it's totally another one to do your and keep your public for 80 minutes.
I like the beginning very much because it sets up the psychology of the hero, and good thing she is a woman.
It's extremely well played. I damned crazy love when the boss says "les fils de pute". The movie is funny and there are many references to the movie culture I surely don't get because I am not used to this type of.
Some close combat could seem a little long sometimes but don't forget it's a parody.

Just received as a suggestion by Prime newsletter among some other movies, with known faces. I picked up this one out of curiosity because watching always the same thing with the same names becomes extremely boring. With this indie flick, you don't have one single minute to get bored. The plot was trimmed down to the core backbone. A girl is hired to house sit a big house over the weekend. What was expected to be a quiet job, is going to turn into a nitemare. Fortunately, she's a kind of Michelle Yeoh or Cynthia Khan.
After a mere 15-min introduction, it's a maelstorm of gunfights and high kicks until the very end. Even if the budget does not seem huge, the energy involved is astounding and more refreshing than recent tasteless girl-kicks-bad-guys-asses. According to some sites, they are working on much bigger productions, let's hope they manage to keep the same mindset.
