Archon Defender follows the path of a young woman, Colette, as she seeks her way through adversity to redemption, as the world she once knew is torn apart by war and tyranny. The Empress Lucia has risen to power in Echelon, and is systematically persecuting the Shard Sensitive, and all who opposes her power. Orphaned while fleeing from Lucia's Regime, Colette seeks refuge in the nation of Archon. Having Awakened to the Shard, her abilities become fully manifest under the guidance of the Archon Council. Joining the Archon Defense Wing, she must confront her own feelings of isolation and despair, to stand against Lucia. Written by David T. Krupicz
In all probability, reiddebster40, you saw the version with the original cast. I did too and I would agree with you; however, when the film was submitted to the Mississauga Independent Film Festival, the organisers insisted that Krupicz re-voice the film. My understanding is that he initially objected because he felt he would alienate some of his friends but eventually agreed. He re-voiced all of the characters in the film. I believe it won the award for Best Animated Feature at that festival. IMDb lists only one award but I am fairly certain that it has won awards in other festivals.
I saw the second version of the film and it is considerably better. I hope it gets wider distribution than it has had up to now because Krupicz is doing some fine work.
I also saw his second film, Origin: A Call to Minds in which he used many of the same actors as the second version of this one. He is showing some great progress.
