The LEGO Movie is a 3D animated film which follows lead character, Emmet a completely ordinary LEGO mini-figure who is identified as the most "extraordinary person" and the key to saving the Lego universe. Emmet and his friends go on an epic journey to stop the evil tyrant, Lord Business.
In The Birds by Aristophanes (414 B.C.), Mr. Trusting and Mr. Hopeful erect a perfect city in the clouds, to be named Cloud Cuckoo Land, an unrealistically idealistic state where everything is perfect. The cannonballs stored on Metal Beard's back vary in number between shots, and they reappear briefly after he's fired them. At first, he fires all but two, then all are gone, then all the cannonballs reappear before disappearing again. See more »
When the movie is shown on YouTube throughout Brick Friday 2018 (November 23rd, 2018) as an promotional advertisement for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019), the words "Based on" in the "Based on LEGO Construction Toys" credit is absent. See more »
This film was rendered in both "Scope" (2.39:1) and "Academy ratio/Flat" (1.37:1, non-wide-screen), the latter of which was intended for 1.85:1 (1.78:1 for Amazon Prime version with bonus features) exhibition for use in theaters that did not use anamorphic lens projection. Each time a shot was completed for the scope version, the animators had to render another take for the "flat" version. Warner Bros. has released on Amazon Prime Video both the "anamorphic" and "spherical" versions, the latter of which also has bonus features after the film.
