Sixty years ago, the continent of Arvium bore witness to a being henceforth known as the Demon King. Nature twisted before His very existence, and the nations of men had no choice but to seal His soul in a young maiden.

How do you stop a Demon King? A being who twists nature merely by existing, and who refuses to die? This was the question put to the learned men of Arvium. Their solution; to capture His soul, to render it impotent by sealing it within the body of a human - a "Vassal". But the frailties of the flesh make this a temporary reprieve. Sooner or later, the Vassals of the Demon King always succumb to His power. Now, the fourth to inherit that burden, Lady Faratras Hoikade, is seen to murder her own subjects - her own control slips. At least, so it appears. Chased from her home, she must travel the length and breadth of Arvium. To discover the truth, to clear her name - and to ensure she does not unwittingly loose the Demon on the continent once more. The few allies willing to stand beside her include the amnesiac knight Sir Ornières and Shiori Leblanc, the blind priestess who 'sees' naught but malice. It is a tale steeped in human nature - a tale of self reflection, of discovery - and, inevitably, of betrayal.—Studio Daimon
