Trivia

The sample "ash can" chapter of the novella was first distributed at San Diego Comic Con 2008 for free. The sample eventually ended up at the hands of Tom Cruise, who approached Joseph Kosinski to develop the film and story. Development continued in background while Kosinski was working on Tron (2010), with the film and the novella released at the same time to prevent spoilers. See more »

Goofs

The Tet is established as a brilliant machine capable of strategic planning, yet it can't figure out why Jack wants to visit after being informed of the Scavs weaponizing power cells, the fact that a large number of them are missing, and with the assumption that Jack 49 has been affected by them. Or, if it does suspect Jack's intentions, it still lets him in without an escort. It is a tough sell to assume the Tet wants Jack's "cargo" so badly to risk such an obvious attack. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Jack Harper: Earth, before the war. New York, before I was born. A place I've only seen pictures of. I know you... But we've never met. I'm with you... But I don't know your name. I know I'm dreaming. But it feels like more than that. It feels like a memory. How can that be?

Excellent Sci Fi movie - do NOT read spoilers!
12 April 2013 | by sandimcgSee all my reviews

I SO enjoyed this movie - always LOVE to see a very entertaining sci-fi film. This one really must be seen on a big screen. But don't let anyone tell you about the movie plot (which is excellent)!!! If they start to do so, stick your fingers in your ears and hum! Don't be tempted to read spoilers!

Part of your fullest enjoyment of this film would come from everything about it being a surprise. If you like sci-fi, you will thoroughly enjoy the plot line, the action, the actors, wonderful visuals of earth, the music and the well-done special effects.

Just watch the trailer if you need to be intrigued. It is a well done representation.
