So let's the positives out of the way. I like the animation style. I had worried that this would look like a knockoff of Blue Eye Samurai, but Twilight of the Gods offers a distinctive style that works for it. The cast works for me, too. The entire reality is wonderfully surreal, which is very much my thing.
What I'm not liking: the story feels so absurdly over the top. The premise of Sigrid hunting down Thor to kill him for revenge is great, but Thor's introduction makes him so absurdly overpowered that I don't see how the series is going to rationalize her being able to defeat him or the other gods (I've seen the second episode, and that's still not selling me on the idea). And I know we're supposed to see Thor as petty and cruel, but he shows up convinced Loki is hiding among Sigrid's family, but after he slaughters her family, he just up and leaves without still trying to find Loki, which is the whole reason he came to the wedding in the first place. The plot just feels thin to me.
I think I went in with my expectations too high, hoping for something to fill the void while waiting for Blue Eye Samurai to get its second season, which was a much better-written series compared to this.
