Storyline

Born upon the shores of the surface world, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) discovers that he is only half human, with the other half of his blood being of Atlanteean descent, thus making him the rightful heir to the throne of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis. However, Arthur learns that Atlantis is being ruled by his malicious half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), who seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms and wage war upon the surface. With aid from Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe) and the gorgeous Mera (Amber Heard), Arthur must discover the full potential of his true destiny and become Aquaman in order to save Atlantis and the surface from Orm's evil plot. Goofs

When Aquaman raises the sub it can be seen that it was rising faster than the air bubbles it was creating, therefore it couldn't safely adjust to the change in atmospheric pressure. When he ripped opened the hatch, he would have instantly decompressed the sub giving everyone on board the bends, if not kill them outright. See more »

Quotes

Arthur Curry: [narrates] Jules Verne once wrote: "Put two ships in the open sea, without wind or tide... they will come together". That's how my parents met: like two ships destined for each other.

And it has nothing to do with the comic books.

Bad and pointless

What is the point of this film? A big beefcake? Because that's literally the only storyline this mess has going for it. Pointless characters, horrible CGI for this modern time, bad acting, I could continue. If I had went to the theater to see this, I would be trying to get my money back. I gave it a 3 only because of the nostalgia I have for Aquaman. That's all that is good about this excuse of an action/family film.
