1920;- June is running an art gallery in London,where Soames comes to an exhibition with Fleur, his daughter by second wife Annette. Irene is also there with Jon, her son from her marriage to Jolyon. Whilst Irene is not happy to see her ex-husband the youngsters hit it off and Fleur invites herself to stay with Dartie's son Val and his wife Holly, in the knowledge that Jon is learning agriculture at a nearby farm.
