Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot and a small amount of blood can be seen very briefly.
  • Two men get into a comical but brutal fist fight in a house after a long chase, and one of them is knocked out of the window and lands in a pool.
  • A woman knocks a man off of a bike with a gas container.
  • There's a large final battle in which characters shoot at each other, and fight with fists and other weapons. A man is shot and blood spurts, and he falls off of a boat. Another man is kicked, hits his head on something hard, and falls off of the boat. Another man is shot in the shoulder and falls off of the boat, but gets back on, and a woman is blown up by a firework, and one of her bloody, dismembered feet lands on the deck.
  • A corpse is shown with two knife wounds and a shark bite.

Profanity

  • The F-word is uttered 75 times in frustration, as well as in casual, sexual, and aggressive contexts. There are also some uses of "motherf***er," including during the song that plays while Mitch chases one of Leeds's thugs on a jetski.
  • There are also uses of "hell," "damn," "ass," "shit," "bitch," "dick," "balls," "bullshit," and "asshole." "Dick" is used both sexually and as an insult.
  • There are 4 uses of "Goddamn".
  • 6 uses of sexual references and sexual cursing.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The main plot involves the bad guys dealing drugs. The drugs are shown washing up on the beach in small packets and being smuggled, and a few background characters are mentioned to have been high on it, but the drugs are never shown being used.
  • Matt (Zac Efron) is a bit of an alcoholic. A video of him at the Olympics shows him vomiting in the swimming pool after a night of drinking, and he later gets drunk while undercover at a party, where he also vomits in a pool.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The boat rescue scene has some intensity as the lifeguards try to save people from a yacht that has been set ablaze. Matt almost drowns when he swims underneath an area covered in fire and doesn't see an immediate way out. There is also a jump scare when a window suddenly explodes while Mitch hangs on next to it.

Sex & Nudity

  • A clothed Ronnie gets an erection when CJ performs the Heimlich maneuver on him while he was choking. He then jumps and lands belly-first onto a wooden deck chair to hide his erection from her, but by doing so, he gets his penis stuck in between the slats. There are a few close-ups on it as he and others try to get it unstuck.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is killed offscreen, has his swimsuit filled with bloody fish guys, and is eaten by sharks, the bloody wounds are graphic and are shown onscreen

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Matt is captured by the bad guys, locked in a cage, dumped into the ocean, and left for dead. He is shown hopelessly drowning for about a dozen seconds before being rescued.
