Michael B. Silver,
A trip to Crystal Lake brings two people face to face with the killer known as Jason Voorhees and they survive, but begin to question why. Discovery of an old tale leads them to see if they can finally put an end to Jason.
Seriously, how many times has he been reborn at this point? Yes, first reboot, but that's not the only meaning of that word. This is the making-of featurette on the DVD of Friday the 13th of 2009(and note that it spoils some of it). It consists of interviews, clips of the film and behind the scenes footage. They talk about the claustrophobic setting, reintroducing the character and the different approach(a leaner, smarter Jason, who we can believe survived by himself in the woods and who hunts, rather than the bulky and seemingly single-minded killing machine of the 11 films in the old continuity). Of course, some of the cast seem to think extremely highly of themselves and their knowledge, and they make claims and put forth statements that are... dubious, to say the least. It is essentially promotional, but as long as you take what is said with a grain of salt, it is informational and interesting enough to warrant giving it 11 minutes of your time. The editing is good, as is the pacing, and if you're looking for this stuff, you will be watching intently. There is blood, violence, gore and sexuality in this(in the portions we see of the picture itself, of course). I recommend this to anyone who wants to know more about the flick. 6/10
