After the disgraceful remake of Smokey and the Bandit called Stand On It, John Schneider thought it would be a great idea to do a sequel called Poker Run, which is an obvious rip-off of another Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham classic Cannonball Run. Judging from the trailer, it looks awful and it appears John did not listen to any of the criticism of Stand On It which had horrible acting and really bad green-screen that made the whole movie feel cheap and lazy. While he claims this movie is a "tribute" to southern car chase comedy, I seriously doubt that because it looks like he is ripping off all of the iconic Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham movies with Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, White Lightning and Gator. It also looks like whatever Smokey and the Bandit scenes he did not remake in Stand On It are thrown into this as they appeared to have remade the state trooper scene from the original, but with bad green screen and bad acting.
Because of the huge disappointment of Stand On It, I am boycotting this movie and more people should because John Schneider and his studio are con artists who claim to be filmmakers are doing nothing but ripping off other films and taking advantage of many Dukes of Hazzard fans and those of Smokey and the Bandit. At this point I will never watch another film from John Schneider studios again and they certainly should be put out of business for copyright infringement and in many cases theft of other film studio's work. I cannot support a group who choose to be cheap and make such lazy productions.
