Storyline

Following a faint trail of clues, the accomplished archaeologist, Doctor Elizabeth Shaw, and her partner, Charlie Holloway, along with a seventeen-man crew, embark on an ambitious, deep-space scientific expedition. Aboard the revolutionary space-exploration starship, USCSS Prometheus, the team sets foot on the rocky terrain of the desolate exomoon, LV-223, in 2093, to investigate the existence of the superior extraterrestrial species known as the "Engineers". But, there, inside a mysterious, complex structure of cavernous dark chambers and an intricate underground system of tunnels, more enigmas await. Now, a terrifying discovery threatens not only the outcome of the bold outer-space mission but also the very future of humankind. Is the world prepared for the answers to the fundamental questions of human existence? Written by Nick Riganas

Trivia

At 1:17:40, Dr Shaw makes the first reference to the edifice as a "pyramid"; in the original screenplay of Alien (1979), the Alien eggs were found inside an pyramid indigenous to the planetoid, but this idea was dropped during subsequent rewrites. A pyramid was also the setting for much of the action in Alien vs. Predator (2004). See more »

Goofs

Meredith Vickers mentions that she flew herself "half a billion miles from ... Earth." 500 million miles, however, is only about Jupiter's aphelion; interstellar distances are conveniently expressed in light-years or parsecs, and if one were to (ab)use miles or km, it would be trillions, at least. However, it is quite obvious Vickers was being sarcastic and speaking figuratively when she made this comment to Janek. See more »
