Mike Heck remains imperturbable whether a fellow Orson, Indiana quarry employee is hurt in an explosion or his family goes through even more drama. Firstborn son Axl is in an arrogant self-contained phase, barely prepared to put on more then his boxers, let alone join in life. Lastborn Brick is weird already and his class's favorite target, as his teacher informs his defensive parents. Sister Sue is an utter screwup; her only success, admission to the school's lame show choir, turning into the worst public humiliation. She's most like mother Frankie who, despite utterly neglecting the household, is near dismissal for never selling a single car at the dealership...and nearly succeeding proves even worse. In the final scene, when Frankie is riding in the convertible and then abandoned on the country road, the greenery in the side ditches of the road keeps changing. It goes from green on one side and bare dirt on the other to bare dirt on both sides and then full greenery on both sides, and back to bare dirt again. See more »

Sue Heck: Mom, Dad... Are you guys disappointed in me, you know, 'cause I never make anything?
Mike Heck: Oh, sure, I'm disappointed, hon. This is like the twelfth thing you've tried out for. I mean, I love not having to go to the events.

Simple yet Amazing
30 June 2018 | by divyansh-1212See all my reviews

An amazing show to just chill at home watch about this amazing family going through daily struggles. It does resemble the different phases of my family too and pretty sure it must be for others too. The best part is, whatever your part in your family, Mom, Dad, Son or Daughter, it gives you sense of others in your family.

It is a plain but surprisingly interesting series. I loved it and wish there were more seasons.
