Sex & Nudity

  • A man is implied to have raped another man's wife.
  • A woman is disrobed and shown to a man. Her naked breasts are visible briefly. It is said that the same woman was kept as a "plaything."
  • A child is shown naked and urinating. It is not sexual, just showing everyday village life.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is stabbed and beheaded in front of his wife. The injuries are not shown but the sounds and bloods splatter are gory.
  • The long fight at the end of the film is very violent with some gore and blood.
  • In two separate scenes, two men commit the ceremonial act of suicide by stabbing themselves in the stomach with a blade. The actual cuts are not shown but the sounds of the blade cutting flesh are vivid and graphic.
  • There are many, many scenes and instances of sword violence and death by arrows, explosions, fire, etc. Blood is shown, but it's all often hard to see due to the quick editing.
  • A family including a young child is shown tied up and then executed by arrows. Very graphic and disturbing

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The 45 minute battle scene at the end is incredibly intense.
  • The many onscreen deaths are intense.
  • An emaciated woman is shown to have had her limbs and tongue cut off and is clearly suffering. A family including a sobbing young child is shown tied up and executed by arrows.
