Los Cabos: Max Zunino, Laura Imperiale Prep Thriller ‘Where Shadows Walk’ (Exclusive)
Los Cabos, Mexico — Multi-prized Mexican filmmaker Max Zunino is set to direct “A cielo abierto” (Where Shadows Walk), a psychological thriller with romantic and genre beats set against the background of big multinational mining corporations kinks in Latin America to organized crime.

Written by Zunino, “Where Shadows Walk” was presented at the 6th Los Cabos Festival’s films in development pitching sessions taking place this week at the Baja California resort.

Zunino’s third feature after “Open Cage” (2014), a Montreal Fest Fipresci prize winner and “Mist” (2016), shot in Berlin. Both presented convention-bucking across-the tracks friendships in a hostile social environment. “Where Shadows Walk” continues this in a love story but will mark a step-up in scale in its budget, production backing – it is set up at Cacerola Films, headed by Laura Imperiale – multiple locations, foreign lead and foreseeable international co-production.

Written by Zunino, “Where Shadows Walk” also drills down on the psychology of big business execs working

Does South Korean Zombie Hit ‘Train to Busan’ Live up to the Hype?

Bottom Line : A fast paced zombie thriller with strong performances from the leads that’s well worth a watch. But surprisingly its not the zombies that are the star of this show, that honour goes to Kim Eui-sung and Kim Su-an.

Train to Busan is director Yeon Sang-ho‘s first non animated film (he also wrote and directed the excellent animated films ‘King of Pigs‘ and ‘The Fate‘ ). Its been the runaway hit of the year for Korean cinema; It was the first film this year to reach the 10 million viewers milestone at the Korean box office and has also been storming the box offices across Asia (Hong Kong for example).

Surprisingly this is actually the first film in over 15 years of acting for main star Gong Yoo ( The Suspect, Age of Shadows, Silenced ) to pass the coveted 10 million milestone.

So What’s it all about?

Starring Gong Yoo,

Venice Film Review: ‘The Age of Shadows’

Venice Film Review: ‘The Age of Shadows’
The irresistible pull of a spy thriller, the heightened stylishness of a 1920s setting, and terrific technical specs make “The Age of Shadows” an unabashed delight. Korean director Kim Jee-woon (“The Last Stand,” “I Saw the Devil”) surpasses himself, returning to the screen after a three-year hiatus with an electrifying double-agent drama loosely based on the clandestine fight between South Korean resistance fighters and the country’s Japanese occupiers. Unfolding in classic action style, this rousing gem has everything one wants for an evening’s entertainment: no wonder South Korea chose it for its Oscar candidate. “Shadows” is destined to be a local sensation with strong international legs.

The first of several stunning set-pieces comes during the opening minutes, when resistance fighter Kim Jan-ok (Park Hee-soon) is betrayed by a mole and surrounded by Japanese police, led by Captain Lee Jung-chool (Song Kang-ho). Exciting camerawork captures the chase, with seemingly
