All Predator Films To Be Re-Released On 4K Ultra HD Outside Of North America

Right before director Shane Black offers his take on the feared space hunter, fans in the Czech Republic will be treated to upgraded re-releases of the first three films in the long-running Predator franchise.

4K Ultra HD releases have been announced for 1987’s Predator, 1990’s Predator 2 and 2010’s Predators, plus all three films will also be sold together in special Blu-ray Steelbook. On top of that, the original will be getting its own 3D Blu-ray and 4K Steelbooks. An August 29th release date has been set for all of the above, albeit only in the Czech Republic so far.

Though audiences elsewhere may be disappointed by the limited regional availability of these fancy new reissues, this news could also be regarded as a sign that similar announcements may follow for the rest of the world. As such, fans in North America shouldn’t be surprised if they’re given

The Predator Stuntman Explains What Makes The Monster Different This Time

After lighting up CinemaCon with “lots of blood, action and explosions,” things are finally looking up for The Predator.

Having undergone extensive reshoots in Vancouver earlier this year and watched a pair of release dates fall by the wayside, the Shane Black-directed reboot seems to have found its footing, due in no small part to a volatile teaser trailer.

Said to take place between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010), the flubbed 20th Century Fox reboot/sequel, the first footage from The Predator saw the “universe’s most lethal hunters” enter “small-town suburbia…deadlier than ever before.”

Director and co-writer Shane Black (Iron Man 3) explained last week that his reimagining would both reinvent the film series and honour the previous instalments, saying while his interpretation will, of course, revolve around a hunt, it will also explore what happens when “the Predators get a little more ambitious.”

Shane Black Explains How The Predator Will Reinvent The Franchise

Yesterday, the first teaser trailer for Shane Black’s The Predator finally arrived, and it was definitely worth the wait.

Said to take place between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010), the flubbed 20th Century Fox reboot/sequel, The Predator will see the “universe’s most lethal hunters” enter the “small-town streets of suburbia…deadlier than ever before.”

During an on-set interview with Collider, director Shane Black clarified that his reimagining will both reinvent the film series and honor the previous installments, explaining the following:

“Well, I think that there’s a basic premise that has to be honoured every time you make a Predator film, and that ’s in some way, whatever the plot turns out to be, it has to, at some level, represent a hunt. But, beyond that, I think there’s infinite variability. It’s like monkey bars. You ever play on the jungle gym when you were a kid?

How 'The Predator' Throws Out the Rules of the Franchise

How 'The Predator' Throws Out the Rules of the Franchise
Thursday’s teaser trailer for The Predator sees the titular alien species resume the hunt first started in 1987’s Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle, Predator. This latest entry, directed by Shane Black, who himself was a supporting cast member in director John McTiernan’s original film, is set to put a fresh spin on the concept while escalating the franchise in a way that the prior sequels never quite managed. Utilizing the continuity of the previous films, The Predator is set between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010) in a present-day storyline that sees the alien hunters facing Special Forces in suburbia....

First ‘Predator’ Trailer Shows Jacob Tremblay Accidentally Releasing Aliens

First ‘Predator’ Trailer Shows Jacob Tremblay Accidentally Releasing Aliens
Thirty years after the original “Predator” film was released, a rebooted version of the action film is here, and so are the aliens.

In the first trailer for “The Predator,” a young boy (Jacob Tremblay), releases the extraterrestrial creatures back into the world when he finds a miniature version of their space ship, which he thinks is a toy. Soon, the aliens have returned in full force and are posing a threat to mankind.

“I think they’re attempting hybridization, they’re upgrading on every planet they visit,” Olivia Munn’s character says as she works in a science lab. The action-packed first look shows a group of ex-soldiers in battle against the creatures, which have genetically increased their strength and intelligence with the DNA from other species.

The Predator” features a star-studded cast of Munn, Tremblay, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane and Yvonne Strahovski.

The Predator Trailer: Shades of Avp Haunt Shane Black's "Reinvention"

Gun to my head, I would admit to being a fan of both Avp films. Paul Ws Anderson's first is a harmless romp through a haunted pyramid, a call back to the kind of tale that might have been told in an old Dark Horse comic. Avp: Requiem is a lot less "fun", but the Brothers Strause at least showed clear revereance for the Predator creation, something that Shane Black has promised to bring to his new "reinvention" The Predator. Perhaps this reverence is in the finished film, but I don't see much of it in this first trailer. Instead I see the suburbs (an aspect that didn't work for Requiem) where a child has access to alien technology (groan) and accidently calls the Predators to...

The Predator Hits Suburbia in the First Trailer

  • Cinelinx
This morning brings the first trailer for Shane Black's upcoming Predator reboot/sequel giving us a look at the iconic monster and the fresh meat he'll be hunting down. Come inside to check it out!

The original Predator movie is one of my favorite monster movies around, and despite the ups and downs (a lot of downs) in the franchise, I've always been eager for more. Nimrod Antal's Predators film (which I can't believe is already eight years old) is the last time we've seen the alien hunters on the big screen, but Shane Black's film is supposed to take place Before that, and after the events of the first two Predator films.

So yeah, it's technically another sequel that's supposed to fit in with everything, but at the same time, Fox is hoping to use The Predator to relaunch the franchise. It's something I've been looking forward to quite a bit.

‘The Predator’ Trailer: Sterling K. Brown and Jacob Tremblay Battle Alien Evil in the Suburbs

‘The Predator’ Trailer: Sterling K. Brown and Jacob Tremblay Battle Alien Evil in the Suburbs
Shane Black is going to make “The Predator” great again, and he’s assembled a pretty awesome cast to do so. “Moonlight” breakout star Trevante Rhodes will be joined by Sterling K. Brown, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key for what is sure to be one of the biggest blockbuster events of the fall.

Black’s “The Predator” has been called a reboot, but it’s officially the fourth installment in the film franchise, which kicked off with 1987’s “Predator.” “Predator” starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of a special ops team sent into the jungles of South America to rescue hostages, who then encounter an extraterrestrial being who is stalking the area and looking for prey. With “The Predator” being the fourth film in the series, it seems 2004’s “Alien vs. Predator” is no longer considered part of the canon.

CinemaCon attendees got an early peek at footage from the film,

The Predator: Carnage And Sci-Fi Action Light Up First Trailer For Shane Black’s Reboot

Something is coming…

After lighting up the halls of CinemaCon with blood, sci-fi action and ugly motherfuckers, 20th Century Fox has summoned the first-look trailer for The Predator, Shane Black and Fred Dekker’s old-school continuation that’s said to take place between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and the botched Predators reboot of 2010.

It shares more DNA with the former sequel, given the suburban setting, but just don’t be fooled into thinking that Black’s squad of Special Forces will be hunting a single extra-terrestrial when in reality, a pool of Predators will be hunting them. Yes, the universe’s most feared creatures are back, back, back, and they’ve seemingly taken a leaf out of Jurassic World‘s book by genetically upgrading themselves with the DNA of other species. Eek!

All of this (and more!) unfolds during today’s first-look teaser, which proves that, yes, the Oscar-winning Jacob Tremblay,

First Logo For Shane Black’s The Predator Revealed At CinemaCon

The Predator is an A-tier movie monster trapped in C-tier movies. While the original is an undisputed action masterpiece, Predator 2 is more of a curate’s egg, Predators fails to make an action hero out of Adrian Brody and the less said about the two Alien vs. Predator films the better. All that’s set to change this September, though, when Shane Black’s hotly anticipated The Predator finally hits cinema screens.

While we know that the film apparently takes place in suburbia and is set between Predator 2 and Predators, and that the plot revolves around genetically upgraded variants of the alien hunters, that’s about it in terms of concrete details. Still, a trailer is expected very soon and to whet our appetites for that, we’ve now got a photo of the film’s logo, which seems to take cues from the original.

‘The Predator’ Debuts at CinemaCon: Shane Black Introduces Genetically-Modified Aliens and Badass Footage

20th Century Fox has being keeping Shane Black’s “The Predator” under lock and key. For a studio tentpole and franchise sequel that’s set for release in almost four months, it’s a bit unusual and extremely enticing that the studio has yet to make any footage or movie stills available to the public. Fortunately, Fox pulled back the curtain on “The Predator” during its CinemaCon presentation.

The Predator” is set in between 1990’s “Predator 2” and 2010’s “Predators.” The alien creatures have managed to upgrade themselves with the DNA from other species, making them stronger, smarter, and deadlier than predators we’ve seen before. The story kicks in when a young boy (Jacob Tremblay) accidentally triggers the predators return to Earth. A ragtag crew of soldiers and scientists, played by Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, and Trevante Rhodes, are tasked with saving the human race.

New Synopsis For The Predator Promises A Different Kind Of Beast

Although it could be argued that the Predator franchise is rather hit or miss, there’s no denying that the creature itself remains among the most iconic in science fiction/horror history. Having always been a marvel when it comes to prosthetic-based costume design, it likely gives moviegoers nightmares to this day – regardless of whether they’re able to get to the choppa before waking.

As for which entries into the series resonated most with audiences, one could say that the original flick starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was the only to achieve “classic” status, but the sequel does have its supporters. Still, those that followed – namely a couple crossover films with Alien and 2010’s Predators – proved to be a bit more divisive, but we’re hoping that director Shane Black’s upcoming offering will set things right.

Now, thanks to a synopsis finding its way out of CinemaCon, we have a

‘The Predator’ Trailer Due Mid-April, So Says Shane Black

It doesn’t look like we’ve got too much more time to wait to see some footage from the upcoming Shane Black-directed The Predator. The filmmaker himself took to Twitter over the weekend to update fans when a trailer for the September-released movie would hit theatres and online. At the same time, Black addressed rumours about the film having to undergo reshoots due to demands by the studio. Not true.

Nope! Just busy. Expect a teaser mid-april… how’s this — my brother and I used to actually close our eyes when the theater ran trailers. Wouldn’t it be cool to go in knowing nothing?

The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane. It will reportedly take place somewhere in the middle of the timeline of Predator 2 (1990) and
