- While the film is meant to be a comedy, there are many scenes of intense violence, and jump scares.

Violence & Gore
- A man tries to escape the bear by climbing up a tree. The bear follows him and graphically tears his leg off while he screams and blood leaks everywhere. The scene ends with the eviscerated body falling headfirst into the ground, snapping his neck. Played for laughs.
- A ranger accidentally shoots a teenager in the head. A large bullet wound is shown and brain and blood is splattered in many directions.
- We see another teenager's body torn to pieces very briefly. His head comically falls into a bucket.
- A violent sequence where the bear is pursuing an ambulance. Once the bear makes its way into the vehicle, one of the inhabitants is pushed out the back door on a stretcher that lands face down on the pavement which proceeds to grind the person's face off as it skids. Another inhabitant is shown to have had his wrist fully severed. The scene ends when the ambulance crashes, launching the driver through the windshield. Nobody survives the attack.
- The corpse of a hiker is shown briefly, his face is graphically missing.
- A character's stomach is cut open and his intestines are eaten by two bears before he's tossed off a cliff
