Great film about immigrants suffering

Warning: Spoilers
The films starts with Omar hanging from a rope. He committed suicide because life in Algeria was unbeareable to him.

The Mediterranean Sea acts as a barrier between two worlds. A group of desperate algerians, some of them are Omar's friends, try to cross it in order to get out of their day to day hell.

Harragas is a film about despair but also about pursuing an unreal dream. Perhaps there is no solution in escaping.

The acting its OK, as well as the direction and photography. Although its a film about human drama, Harragas also has a quota of suspense concerning the fate of the principal characters. If you like social cinema or political cinema you should see it.
