Aaron Eckhart is giving a new voice to Frankenstein's monster. HitFix's Katie Hasty caught up with the "I, Frankenstein" star at the San Diego Comic-Con, where the actor took part in the film's Hall H panel. Watch the full interview above. Lionsgate Pushes Release Date For Adaptation Of Kevin Grevioux's 'I, Frankenstein' To 2014

Lionsgate has, once again, pushed the release date for Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein, which has previously pushed back 7 months, from February 22 to September 13, 2013, and has now been moved again to January 24, 2014. I mention this news because, for those who may not be aware, I, Frankenstein is a big screen adaptation of actor/screenwriter/writer Kevin Grevioux's graphic novel of the same name. Kevin Grevioux is a black man, as you see in the image above. You've probably seen some of his other work - the Underworld franchise of films, to start. Release Date Shuffle: I, Frankenstein Pushed to January 2014, Insidious 2 Moved Up, Austenland Set for 8/16, Walk Of Shame Opens 9/20

A few release date shuffles have been announced. Briefly: I, Frankenstein – Director Stuart Beattie’s graphic novel adaptation has been pushed back yet again from this coming September to the less-than-promising date of January 24th. The Aaron Eckhart-starrer will now open opposite the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Sam Worthington thriller Ten. Insidious: Chapter 2 – The Patrick Wilson/Rose Byrne-fronted horror sequel will now open a week earlier on September 13th, opposite Machete Kills and Battle of the Year. Austenland – Sony Pictures Classic has set Jerusha Hess’ Sundance comedy for a limited release in NY and La on August 16th. The film stars Keri Russell and Jemaine Clement. Walk of Shame – Director Steven Brill’s comedy, which stars Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden, has been slated for wide release on September 20th. The film will open opposite the Hugh Jackman/Jake Gyllenhaal thriller Prisoners and Ron Howard’s racing drama Rush.

I, Frankenstein: New Casting Updates

Earlier this week, we reported that Bill Nighy was in talks to join I, Frankenstein. With production expected to begin in January, the cast is starting to fill out and we have a few casting updates.

Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast. According to THR, she’ll play the female lead role of “a scientist working on reanimating the dead and tricked into working for demons seeking to create an army of the undead”.

Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) has also joined the cast as the the queen of the gargoyles. If Bill Nighy officially signs on, he’ll be playing the leader of the demons, while Socratis Otto, will be playing one of his henchmen.

Aaron Eckhart has already signed on to play the lead role of Adam Frankenstein in this modern-day spin on the Frankenstein Story:

Casting Bits: Yvonne Strahovski in ‘I, Frankenstein’, David Oyelowo in ‘Lincoln’, Elle Fanning and Alessandro Nivola in ‘Bomb’
Chuck actress Yvonne Strahovski is in final talks for I, Frankenstein, Stuart Beattie's adaptation of the comic book by Kevin Grevioux. Aaron Eckhart leads the cast as Frankenstein's classic monster, who in the present day goes by Adam and stands between humanity and the supernatural demons who would overtake them. Bill Nighy was previously announced as being in talks to play the villain, a demon prince determined to unlock the secrets of Frankenstein's reanimation. Strahovski is negotiating for the female lead, a scientist who's tricked by the demons into helping them create an undead army. Miranda Otto and Socratis Otto (no relation) also star. Strahovski recently starred in Killer Elite with Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert De Niro, and will next appear in My Mother's Curse with Seth Rogen, Barbra Streisand, and Adam Scott. Stuart Beattie to Write and Direct 'I, Frankenstein'
Stuart Beattie will write and direct Lakeshore Entertainment's "I, Frankenstein," TheWrap has confirmed. Gary Lucchesi, president of Lakeshore, told TheWrap that he has been working on the project for about a year. "We've been struggling to get a writer, but Stuart Beattie came in with a great idea," Lucchesi said. Also read: 'G.I.
