war tale

French style. not very convincing, not exactly touching, with few beautiful images, small crumb from a huge bread. a young artist. war. serious leg injury. a German hospital. a Chinese master in lacquer.support of a lady. a small industry. fear, tension, despair. an exposition. great success. and happy love story. not a bad movie. but all is old. the presentation of theme is too gray. the message is not impressive. and Loic Corbery is only a theater man in skin of a didacticist character. result - scent of dried flowers. is it enough ? not exactly. the nuances of watercolors, the fragile exposure of pain, the archetypal force of hero are remembers from very-well novel. touching, yes. but not convincing. a war tale. another. without soul, without real identity, without expecting sparkles.
