Out in theaters nationwide now, director John Crowley’s film centers on Tobias (Andrew Garfield) and Almut (Pugh), a young couple who meets when she accidentally runs him over with her car. Despite playing fast and loose with the “cute” part of that meet-cute, the two fall in love and the film follows their life together over the next several years.

Of course, we don’t follow that life chronologically; as the title suggests, the movie jumps around in time to major moments for the couple. In this romantic drama movie, she plays the role of Almut, a competitive figure skater who later transitions into a chef. But there was one specific element of her character that made the actress train hard.

“The Terror” Season 3 has rounded out its main cast, Variety has learned.

A dozen actors have now joined previously announced lead Dan Stevens in the new season, which is officially titled “The Terror: Devil in Silver.” It is based on the novel “The Devil in Silver” written by Victor Lavalle.

Zoe Lister-Jones was proud to attend Sunday’s Spirit Awards, and the reason is twofold. First, the multihyphenate talent turned up in Santa Monica to support a pair of nominations for Roku’s Slip, the original series she created, starred in and executive produced alongside a team that includes Dakota Johnson. Reason No. 2: She did so by walking into the event hand-in-hand with a new love in her life.

When the subject of her plus-one came up during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old Lister-Jones responded with a big reveal: “I’m here, I’m queer, I have some fear but I’m working through it.” Lister-Jones is in a new relationship with a fellow filmmaker, Sammi Cohen, who most recently directed Netflix’s You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, the teen comedy starring Adam Sandler and family including wife Jackie and their daughters Sadie and Sunny.

Molly Shannon has joined the cast of “Only Murders in the Building” Season 4 in a recurring role.

Though plot details for the season remain under wraps, Shannon will play a high powered Los Angeles businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in New York.

Shannon is best known for starring in “Saturday Night Live” for six seasons from 1995 to 2001. Most recently, she starred alongside Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman in Zack Braff’s 2023 film “A Good Person” and played Pat Dubek for three seasons of “The Other Two” on Max (previously Comedy Central). Also among her credits are Showtime’s “I Love That for You” and HBO’s “The White Lotus” and the films “Other People,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Scary Movie 4” and “Scary Movie 5.”

Molly Shannon, who mined her Irish background to create delightful characters on Saturday Night Live and beyond, is the latest honoree to be announced for the 18th annual Oscar Wilde Awards.

The event, organized by the US-Ireland Alliance, celebrates the work of those from Ireland — and those with Irish roots, as in Shannon’s case — who contribute to film, television and music. It’s set for March 7, three days before the Academy Awards, at the Santa Monica home of Bad Robot, J.J. Abrams and Katie McGrath’s production company.

Shannon, who grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, joins previously announced honorees Pierce Brosnan (born in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland) and Oscar-winning VFX artist Richard Baneham (born in Dublin).

“Molly’s Irish American characters on Saturday Night Live — like Mary Katherine Gallagher and Sally O’Malley — are iconic,” Trina Vargo, founder of the US-Ireland Alliance, said in a statement.

Longtime talent agent Scott Manners, known for his founding and development of the Artists & Representatives talent agency, has died. He was 68.

Manners died on Friday, surrounded by family in Los Angeles, after a brief battle with Als, according to a statement from Artists & Representatives.

“Through the years, we have all been moved by his mission to brilliantly represent the artists who bring our society closer to love,” the statement continued. “It was his life’s work to make a difference every day and change lives for the better.”

Manners founded his agency, then called Stone Manners, more than three decades ago. It was renamed twice; first to Stone Manners Salners after Glenn Salners became a partner in 2010, and then to Artists & Representatives in 2019 when the company added more partners and expanded to New York City.

321 films are in contention for this year’s Academy Awards, while 265 features are eligible in the best picture category, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday as it released its annual “reminder list” for members.

To be eligible in the general categories, films (meaning a runtime of more than 40 minutes) must open in a commercial theater in at least one of the following areas: Los Angeles County; the city of New York; the Bay Area; Chicago, Illinois; Miami, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia, between Jan. 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023. Additionally, it must complete a minimum qualifying run of seven consecutive days in the same venue.

To be eligible for the best picture category specifically, the movies must be eligible for the general entry and have “submitted a confidential Academy Representation and Inclusion Standards entry form.” Additionally, the film must meet two of the four standards required, in addition to the theatrical component.

Based on the iconic comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, season two will find super-powered protagonist Mark attempting to rebuild his life after finding out the truth about his father Nolan.

Elsewhere on the streamer, the producing team behind the James Bond movies are out to spin the franchise in a completely different direction by debuting their curious new globe-trotting adventure series, pitched somewhere between a quiz show and a treasure hunt. 007: Road To A Million features Brian Cox as the game’s “mastermind”, watching over the contestants as they try to win a million quid.
