- In Molly's apartment, Gar tells her that they had friends in common. He asks if she's seen Jason recently, and she says that she hasn't seen him in a while, and he seemed okay other than the suit he was wearing. Gar tells Molly that Jason is in trouble and he needs to find him. Molly asks what Gar is going to do when he does fine Jason, and Gar says that he just wants to help Jason, and he figures Molly does as well.
Molly wonders how Jason became the way he is, and Gar asks if there was anything about Jason when he came back. He tells Molly that he needs to speak with Jason and fix things, and Molly wonders if Gar thinks he's the man for the job. Gar looks out where the Titans signal is shining on the clouds, and tells Molly that it isn't just him.
At the manor kitchen, Dick is coordinating with Barbara on the Titans Signal. As they talk over the phone, Barbara notices a water leak from the ceiling of her office. She assures Dick that she wants to go to the gala with him, and he says that he'll see her later. Kory comes into the kitchen and talks with Dick, and she notices that he has the signal up on his laptop.
Conner and Blackfire lie in bed after sex and look at starmaps of Tamaran and Krypton. He wonders if she'll ever go back to her home, and Blackfire says that she doesn't know if she can. She assures Conner that she's staying, at least for the night.
Tim Drake comes up to the manor front door to see Dick, and Gar lets Dick know, and passes on that Tim said that he knows Dick is Nightwing. Tim also told Gar that he knows Bruce is Batman
Dick meets with Tim, who says that he was there at Haley's Circus on the night Dick's parents were killed. He saw Batman and Robin in the news, and saw Robin do the same move that Dick during his performance. Dick claims that Robin stole his moves, but Tim has confirmed that Nightwing does the same move. After Dick says that Nightwing stole his moves, he takes Tim to the kitchen. The newscast about the Signal is still running, and Tim points out that his father got shot and the Titans are putting on a light show.
Tim says that his father wouldn't have gotten shot if Batman was there, and says that Dick needs help and offers to be the next Robin. Dick tells Tim that Bruce is a philanthropist consulting in Europe, and he's just a former cop. Tim doesn't believe him, and Dick offers him a ride home.
Jason watches as Crane drills through the floor of a pump station. He tells Crane that he needs more of the anti-fear drug, and Crane tells him that he's out and Jason will have to make it himself. Jason asks about the barrels of drug that Crane has brought, and Crane warms him that it's deadly in its uncut form. As Jason starts to walk away, Crane tells him that they're close to a sweet comeback. Crane tells Jason that the pump station is directly above a valve station that controls all of the water supply for Gotham. Once he drills through the steel floor, he'll dump the drug into the water supply.
The drill glances off the steel, and Jason laughs. Crane joins in and says that Gotham is going to destroy itself when he's through. He admits that he brought Jason back so he could use him, and Jason gave him secrets about Batman and the Titans. Jason beats Crane and says that he's done being used and walks away.
Dick takes Tim to the noodle house his family owns, and Tim assures Dick that he won't tell his secret. He wonders who the second Robin is, and saw Jason the night that Tim's father was shot. Tim assures Dick that they'll meet again and goes inside, and Barbara calls Dick and figures he's canceling on their date. Dick asks Barbara to access the security cameras outside the noodle house the night of the attack. Barbara confirms that Jason was there and determines he was seen in Ripley Park ten minutes earlier.
Dick goes to the address and sees Jason, who sees him. Jason walks off and Dick goes after him, and gets hit by a truck as he drives on his motorcycle across the street. When Jason comes back, Dick sees him before passing out.
Conner and Blackfire are making love again, and the bed breaks from their efforts. Kory comes in and Conner superspeeds out. Blackfire tells her sister that it isn't what she thinks, and Kory starts to blast her sister. Blackfire stops her, and Kory snaps out of her trance and says the visions are happening again. Blackfire confirms they're not coming from her, and Kory figures that someone is trying to tell her something and leaves.
The next morning, Dick wakes up in the hospital with Barbara at his bedside. Barbara claims that she went to the gala anyway, and the doctor tells Dick that Barbara was there ten minutes after he was brought in. Dick apologizes, and Barbara says that she called the Titans and told them what happened. She says that the paramedics got there quickly based on an anonymous call, and Dick figures that Jason called them. Barbara doesn't believe it, but Dick figures that Jason has lost his nerve and will be easier to finish off. She suggests that if Jason wants to end it quietly, they should do it. Dick hesitantly agrees.
Barbara checks Dick's vision with a nearby eye chart, and he briefly hallucinates the letters turning into a bat. She goes to have a meeting with the mayor, and wonders whose city it will be when the Titans wrap things up with Jason and Crane. Dick tells her that it will be Barbara's city, and Barbara goes.
Kory goes the sensory deprivation tank with Blackfire and Conner, and proposes to do the same thing she did before when she found her sister. She apologizes for pulling them both together to help her, and they assure her it's no problem, and Kory gets into the tank and closes the lid.
Hallucinating, Kory sees herself in an empty theater with spotlights shining on her from the darkness. She has a program book but the pages are blank. A baby carriage drops down on the stage, and as Kory goes to it her mother Kapelwa appears in the balcony and yells about her baby. Kory looks into the carriage and sees herself as a baby.
Kory snaps out of her trance in the poor part of Gotham. Conner and Blackfire are there, and ask if she's awake. Kory says that she is, and explain that she got out of the pod, wanted to drive, stole one of Bruce'a cars, and they followed her. She kept circling the spot, but she doesn't remember anything about the spot. As they go to their car, Kory comments that they're sleeping together but doesn't say anything else and they leave in their car.
A building super goes into the station, and finds Crane on the floor. Crane says that he doesn't want trouble and he's just looking for a place to sleep. The super apologizes for his paranoid and notices that Crane has been beaten up. Crane says that he and his friend had a spat, and he ran off. The man offers a Crane a yogurt cup, and Crane is surprised at the man's generosity and takes it. The super goes over on his final inspection and notices the drill marks, then takes a photo of them. He tells Crane that the plate is 10' thick and whoever tried to drill through it used a concrete drill.
The super sees the barrels of drugs and starts to call them in, and Crane comes up behind him and breaks his neck. Crane calls out to Jason but gets no response.
Jason goes to an adult store and tells two of the "performers" through a one-way mirror that he just wants to talk. He tells them that they're to pretend their Hank and Dawn, and then Jason apologizes to "Hank" for killing him. The two performers think he's joking, and Jason says that he isn't. The male says that he's not playing the role and leaves, and the woman says that she's sure Hank had it coming. Jason says that Hank didn't, and she says that she's done a lot of bad things high. She tells Jason that people only forgive them at home, then says that Jason's time is up and the shutter on the mirror closes. Jason says that it's all gone, and gets a text from Molly.
Dick calls Barbara and says that they released him. Barbara did another video sweep, but Jason vanished. Dick loses the signal on his phone as she has a repairman look at the leak in the ceiling. The taxi Dick is in arrives at the manor, and he hallucinates himself as a boy in a Robin costume, saying the old house is gone and Dick is never going to find them.
As Dick stares off into space, the taxi driver asks if there's a problem. Dick pays the driver and gets out, and goes inside and sits on the couch in the study.
Gar is in the Batcavg, and sees Dick on the monitors. Molly calls Gar and passes on Jason's message. Later, Gar meets with Dick and tells him that Jason wants to meet Dick alone in old rum runners' tunnels, but doesn't want Nightwing. Gar offers Dick the team's backup, but Dick figures Jason will know if anyone is with Dick. Despite that, Dick agrees to meet with Jason.
As Conner and Blackfire drive back to the manor, Blackfire figures that they were careless holing up in the room for 24 hours. Conner wonders what they do now, and Blackfire asks him what he wants to do. She suggests that they could forget the whole thing, and points out that they have nothing in common. Blackfire asks if Conner is upset, and says that it was the first time he had sex and he can't forget it. She tells Conner that she doesn't want to forget it, either, and was trying to give Conner an out because she's the "bad sister". Conner smiles and tells Blackfire that she's not bad, and she tells him that he's not bad, either.
Dick goes down into the tunnels, and Tim comes up behind him and figures that Dick wants to finish Jason alone. Dick says that he's just a regular guy doing regular things, but Tim knows that Batman used the tunnels. When Dick tells Tim to go home before he gets hurt, Tim says that his father was a cop who taught him how to investigate and shoot, and he can help Dick. He says that he's going to find Red Hood and Scarecrow. Dick tells Tim that it's not a good idea, but Tim ignores him and walks away. Going down into the tunnels, Dick calls to Jason.
Crane comes to his mother's psychiatrist office and says that he didn't call ahead because he figured she wouldn't pick up. Miss Crane says that she thought Crane would town, then asks what he wants. Crane says that he was hoping she'd give him some tough love. She tells him that he doesn't exist to her, and says that Crane is afraid to take risks on loved ones or career, so he uses drugs and weak friends to shield him from the world.
Crane points out that she left, and she says that she deserved a better child and got one. He says that he has terror that his ambitions will be unrealized, and he sees it all. Crane rambles about how a creature swoops down and steals everything from him. When his mother wonders if he means Batman, Crane yells that the creature is a metaphor and he's a dreamer as well as a thief. He apologizes for yelling at her. Miss Crane looks out the window at a window in an opposite building. Crane notices and asks what she did, and his mother apologizes. He tells her that he forgives her.
Four police burst in a few minutes later. They find Miss Crane dead in her chair, her neck broken.
That night, Crane locates the tracker that he put on Jason.
In the tunnels, Dick hallucinates his younger self again, this time saying that he can see the way. Jason talks to Dick over the intercoms and tells Dick that he and Crane are finished. He wants to come home and be a Titan again, and he's clean and it was the drugs and Crane talking the led him to kill Hank. Dick tells Jason that he can come home if he gives up Crane, and Jason tells Dick to meet him at the old pump station. Crane has tracked Jason there and is listening in, as Jason thanks Dick.
Back at the manor, Dick tells the other Titans that he offered Jason a place there. Kory points out that Dick is forgiving a murderer, and Dick insists that they need Crane. When Dick says that Jason needs to be held accountable, Gar points out that they didn't hold him accountable when Cadmus made him a killer. He says that Jason deserves the same chance.
Dick says that they'll bring Jason and Crane in and then assess the situation. Blackfire speaks up and says that she's bullish on second chances. As the others leave, Kory tells Dick that Bruce told him to be a better Batman, and one kills and one doesn't. Dick doesn't answer and goes without answering.
Jason emerges from the tunnels and walks away, unaware that Tim is watching him. Tim follows Jason to the station. Crane goes in, dropping his revolver as he hauls cans inside. Finding the gun, Tim looks up to see Crane come back out for it. Crane looks at Tim, who picks up the gun. Tim turns and runs, and Crane shoots him in the back.
Crane goes back inside, and Jason hears the shot and comes to investigate. He asks Tim who he is, and Tim says who he is and that he follows Jason to be Robin. Krypto runs up, and Jason sees the dog and runs away. Superboy superspeeds up, sees Jason running, and tells the others that Tim is there and injured. Nightwing and the others arrive, and Nightwing recognizes Tim from earlier.
Superboy uses his x-ray vision and confirms the bullet went clean through, and Beast Boy calls an ambulance. Nightwing hallucinates Tim as himself, then goes in after Crane with Starfire, while Superboy goes around the back and Beast Boy stays with Tim.
Inside the station, Nightwing and Starfire split up to search the place. Crane is hiding, and remembers what his mother told him earlier about being too afraid to take risks. He runs out and Starfire fires a blast him when she sees him, setting off an explosion.
At the GCPC, Vee tells Barbara about the explosion. As she wheels over to Vee, telling his assistant to call in a SWAT team, the leak above her desk bursts, spewing drug-tainted water down on Barbara's desk.
Nightwing and Starfire look at the devastation caused by the explosion, and they realize Crane set them up and lured Starfire into blasting at him to cause the explosion. Starfire realizes that she just dosed all of Gotham.
As workers clean up her office, Barbara looks at the contaminated water. She looks up through the skylight at the Titan Signal.
