Shooting in Karachi is difficult. But we remained resolutely optimistic, believing that negativity
can seep into a films emulsion. We filmed with minimal security at such dangerous locations as the train tracks under the Kala Pul Bridge at dawn, where supportive locals actually powered the Jimmy Jib. I cheered my cantankerous crew on even as they struggled to light an Arabian Sea beach hut with 25 tungsten lights, or
tangled with an enthusiastic crowd at Shah Ghazi, the oldest Sufi shrine in the sub-continent.
