So, Which Vampire Diaries Characters Will Be Showing Up on the New Spinoff?

Legacies, the second spinoff of the wildly popular The Vampire Diaries franchise, is coming to The CW this Fall, and we're pretty excited. The series is slated to focus on the teenage Hope Mikaelson, last seen on the series finale of The Originals, and her adventures at the supernatural boarding school that was founded in the epilogue of the finale of the original The Vampire Diaries. The question on everyone's mind, of course, is which existing characters from the Tvd universe will show up?

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to score HBO’s Watchmen

HBO has announced that it has enlisted Oscar and Golden Globe-winning Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails to compose the score for Damon Lindelof’s upcoming TV adaptation of Watchmen.

Reznor and Ross began working together as composers on David Fincher’s The Social Network, winning the Oscar and Globe Globe Awards for their efforts. They have also scored Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, as well as the Gillian Flynn adaptation Gone Girl and feature documentary Before the Flood.

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.

Paul Wesley Surprises Nina Dobrev On Set Of Her New Show

Nina Dobrev got the best surprise on the set of her new series, Fam.

While the actress was at a taping for the new CBS comedy series, Dobrev was shocked to the core when she realized her former The Vampire Diaries co-star, Paul Wesley, was at the front of the studio audience.

Dobrev noticed while she was posing alongside the cast of her new series, and immediately made a beeline for Wesley and hugged him.

As her new co-stars are looking over in disbelief, Dobrev realizes that she broke away from the crowd.

"What are you doing here?!" she yells, before making her way back.

It was a beautiful moment, for sure, and one that Nina will not be forgetting any time soon.

Nick Jonas Turns Playwright as VIPs Turn Out for a First-Time Table Read (Exclusive)
On the weekend of the Emmys, and of his own 26th birthday, Nick Jonas threw a different kind of soiree — inviting about three dozen studio executives and film producers to a table read of the first dramatic play he’s written, “Dessert First,” at the Chateau Marmont, Variety has learned.

Jonas started writing the play about a year ago while on the set of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” the action comedy that kick-started his big-screen career after successful runs in pop and television. Since his last solo album debuted at No. 2 in 2016, he’s increasingly turned his attention to film and theatrical prospects. “Dessert First” represents one of the nascent efforts Jonas has developed via a production company he recently started to create vehicles for himself as a writer and actor.

Among those on hand to check out Jonas’ writing efforts Friday were his fiancée of just under two months,

11 New Character Additions That Hurt CW Shows (And 9 That Saved Them)

Every time a television series introduces a new character to the fold, the writers are taking a gamble. Typically, it means that the show was popular enough to make it out of its first season, and a new character can muck with the precarious balance that drew fans in the first place. There's simply no way for writers to get it right every time, meaning that in just about every show, there's a newer character that had a negative impact on the series.

The CW, the TV network formed from the merging of The WB and Upn, has been around for over a decade now, and has turned out dozens of successful (and not so successful) shows, mostly aimed at the teen demographic. Their most famous cultural exports involve superheroes, monsters, and extremely attractive actors, shows like Supernatural, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and the Arrowverse.

Frequently, these shows' success

Couples don't always work out, especially on television shows, and yet there are some cases to be made for relationships that should have never been explored.

Some of the reasons become time-wasting in the form of a predictable obstacle, or when they just aren't right for each other yet the audience is meant to follow along on their short-lived journey.

Hellboy confirmed for New York Comic Con, first trailer expected

With next month’s New York Comic Con fast approaching, the official Twitter account for Hellboy has announced that Lionsgate will be bringing the Neil Marshall-directed comic book adaptation to the convention with a panel set to take place on October 6th.

In addition to Marshall, the panel will feature Hellboy himself David Harbour, along with co-stars Sasha Lane, Daniel Dae Kim and Ian McShane and comic book creator Mike Mignola.

The new Hellboy movie is set for release this coming January, and so far the marketing campaign has been limited to just two images of Harbour in full makeup as the title character. With that in mind, it would seem there’s a good chance those in attendance at the Nycc panel will get to see the first trailer, which will hopefully be released online at the same time.

Study Shows Bleak Middle Eastern & North African Representation, Reinforced Stereotypes On Primetime TV

  • Deadline
Representation and inclusion on TV appear to be on the steady uptick, but a closer look shows that progress is a minuscule move of the needle. We are seeing more black, Latino and Asian representation, but as we look deeper into specific portrayals within these ethnicities and races we have seen a stagnant pool of stereotypes — especially with regard to Middle Eastern and North African (Mena) actors.

According to a new study presented by Mena Arts Advocacy Coalition (Maac) titled “Terrorists and Tyrants: Middle Eastern and North African (Mena) Actors in Prime Time and Streaming Television”, there is a major gap in representation when it comes to Mena actors. When Mena actors are on TV they largely portray — you guessed it — terrorists and tyrants, stereotypical roles that have existed since the dawn of Hollywood.

“Most people thought the push for diversity would create an uptick in roles, but the opposite happened,

It’s never going to get the blessing of Alan Moore, let’s face it, but Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons has given HBO and Damon Lindelof’s upcoming TV adaptation of the seminal graphic novel his seal of approval during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“I do know a little about it,” said Gibbons. “I’ve had conversations with Damon, and I’ve read the screenplay for the pilot. I don’t think it’s my place to say too much about it, other than I found Damon’s approach to be really refreshing and exciting and unexpected. I don’t think it’s gonna be what people think it’s going to be. It certainly wasn’t what I imagined it to be. I think it’s extremely fresh. I’m really looking forward to seeing it on the screen.”

“I’ve been resistant to the comic book prequels and sequels,
