Van Helsing Season 3 Episode 11 Review: Been Away

Axel returns home for a bittersweet reunion, and Sam searches for Mohamad on a thought provoking Van Helsing.

This Van Helsing review contains spoilers.

Van Helsing Season 3 Episode 11

“In the end, no one’s ever really who you think they are.”

Now that Vanessa has come to terms with her past actions, it’s only fitting that Axel Miller be afforded the opportunity to confront some of his own demons in a continuation of the cast-lite approach Van Helsing has adopted of late. The deeply personal “Been Away” puts Jonathan Scarfe in the spotlight as Axel wrestles not only with the conflicting forces of love and hate, but the knowledge that at his core he’s as imperfect as the next man.

There’s only so much a show can do when it focuses solely on one of its regular characters operating in a limited and compact framework, and

Legacies Season 1 Episode 7 Review: Death Keeps Knocking On My Door

The apocalypse is well underway, and our characters are more fractured than ever.

Heading into Legacies Season 1 Episode 7, it was obvious we were going to get some insight into what happened to some of the characters who were already dead, and I can't be the only one who wasn't buying Hope's thinly veiled attempt at getting answers from the Necromancer.

The teenager has experienced more loss than the best of us, all while trying to come to terms with her status as the daughter of someone who is painted as a villain in the books in the very library she does all of her researching in.

What "Death Keeps Knocking On My Door" proved was that Hope wants to make everyone think she's moved on and is fine, but her biggest fear is that her father sacrificed himself and wound up facing an eternity of pain.

While the Necromancer will

20 Fan Redesigns Of Unexpected Vampire Diaries Couples

The Vampire Diaries has no shortage of romantic relationships, but that doesn’t stop fans from inventing new ones. It seems there is no limit to the possible combinations of characters viewers want to see together. In some cases, the pairings make a lot of sense, and others require we use some imagination. Either way, fan art like drawings and edits help us envision what these relationships would look like if they really happened on the show. Talented artists and editors redesigned these characters and transformed them into unusual couples.

None of the following pairings have a true romance, but some have come close. Fans naturally root for those with close friendships and those whose relationships have slowly evolved over the long series. What’s most surprising are the relationships that have never even crossed your mind. Some have such antagonistic interactions that it’s almost impossible to picture them together.

Legacies Round Table: Was Jo's Return Worth the Wait?

Oh, mother.

Legacies Season 1 Episode 6 brought Jo Laughlin back to the land of the living for a short time, and it gave our panelists a lot to discuss.

Below, TV Fanatics Celester Mejia, Justin Carreiro, and Paul Dailly discuss whether the big return, Alaric's new mission, and so much more.

Was Jo's return a gift, or did it open up old wounds for Alaric, Lizzie, and Josie?

Celester: Both. Jo is a beloved character from The Vampire Diaries who never got the chance to meet her daughters, so it was both a blessing and a curse for her. Curse, because she had to come back as a zombie instead of being able to relish being with her family.

The Saltzman family are all mourning again, but they’re luckier than most to be able to spend a day or two having the real and whole biological family together.

Justin: It’s a little of both.

The Vampire Diaries: 20 Characters That Are Powerful (And 10 That Are Useless)

The universe of The Vampire Diaries is teeming with vampires, witches, and werewolves. Almost every character on the original show, as well as its two spin-offs, The Originals, and Legacies, are powerful in super-human ways. In fact, there’s so much power brimming among the various creatures that each new character seems to be more formidable than the last. With so many different skills — from super-strength for vampires to a venomous bite for werewolves to magical manipulation for witches — each being can more than hold their own. Add original vampires, vampire/werewolf hybrids, and even a combination of all three in the form of Hope Mikaelson to the mix, and the amount of power the different characters can wield becomes endless.

Of all the Tvd characters, which are the most powerful? Who can most successfully outfight and outlast the others? Some of these characters shown here were never defeated, some

Legacies Fall Finale Promo: Will Death Come Knocking?

It's hard to believe it, but we're already approaching the midseason finale of Legacies.

Legacies Season 1 Episode 7, titled "Death Keeps Knocking On My Door," will pick up in the immediate aftermath of Legacies Season 1 Episode 6.

The necromancer is on the loose in Mystic Falls, and he takes aim at Hope Mikaelson, and it looks like the youngster is going to come to terms with all the loss she's endured in her young life.

The biggest losses for her was her parents sacrificing themselves the same year, and the teenager has never really been able to move on from that.

Hope is trapped in her own worst nightmares and given that there's a casket thrown in for good measure, it's likely that we're going to learn her thoughts on her father's old tactic for shutting his siblings up.

Legacies Season 1 Episode 6 Review: Mombie Dearest

That was cruel.

Jo Laughlin made her return on Legacies Season 1 Episode 6, and as expected, it was a short-lived affair.

With monsters popping up every single week, it was about time we had one that was deeply rooted in the show that kick-started the franchise.

Jo was a great character on The Vampire Diaries Season 6, and her character was one of my favorites, so bringing her back from the dead just to off her again was always going to leave me with a lot of emotions.

It's hard to believe sixteen years have passed since that fateful wedding, but "Mombie Dearest" was an invaluable gift that Alaric, Josie, Lizzie, and even Jo will recall for years to come.

TVLine spoke with series creator Julie Plec about the implications of this week’s biggest twists — including an update on Caroline’s whereabouts — but first, a quick recap: While Josie spent most of the episode bonding

Legacies' Kaylee Bryant Previews Jo's Dramatic Return, Offers 'Endless' Romantic Possibilities for Josie
Legacies star Kaylee Bryant has been harboring a mother of a secret for months. Thursday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c) revives Josie and Lizzie’s birth mom — a role being reprised by The Vampire Diaries‘ Jodi Lyn O’Keefe — and while most fans learned of her arrival by watching last week’s promo, Bryant has known since before the season even began filming.

“I was still in Los Angeles at the time, and they invited Quincy [Fouse] and I to go to the writers’ room,” Bryant tells TVLine. “I walked in and they have this massive table with three whiteboards with

19 Most Inappropriate Relationships In TV History

  • TVfanatic
It's hard to find a show without some kind of familial, romantic or purely sexual pairing. Not that we're complaining because a lot of our favorite shows are built on strong relationships. But mixed in with all those (fairly) normal ties are the ones that will cause even the most hardened ones among us to do a double take.

A good number of those have led to some juicy storylines, and more than a few have been inserted merely for the shock value they provide, it's almost like a competition to see which writers can shock the audience the most.

Legacies Round Table: Who Is Landon Visiting in New Orleans?

Changes are coming to Mystic Falls.

On Legacies Season 1 Episode 5, we learned the truth about what these villains were up to, and a character was brought back from the dead.

Below, TV Fanatics Celester Mejia, Justin Carreiro, and Paul Dailly discuss the Malivore theories, what Landon's mother is up to, and so much more.

What are your thoughts on Malivore?

Celester: I think it sets us up to what the future is going to be like in Legacies.

We are being introduced to different creatures that it somehow makes me theorize that it has something to do with the ending of The Vampire Diaries when we were introduced to Arcadius and the Sirens, especially since the Legacies Season 1 Episode 1 started with fire and The Vampire Diaries ended with fire. Just a theory though.

Legacies Photos: Is There Hope for Jolaric?

Well, this is unexpected.

Legacies Season 1 Episode 6 is bringing back Jodi Lyn O'Keefe as Jo.

Alaric's one-time love and the mother of Lizzie and Josie was killed in brutal fashion by Kai on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21.

The character subsequently popped up on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 when Alaric managed to bring her back from the dead.

However, it was not the Jo he knew and loved. We did get a glimpse of Jo on The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 16, and she was apparently at peace watching Alaric and their daughters moving on.

But now she's back in the land of the living, and it's going to cause a lot of problems.

Have a look at the photos below, and be sure to hit the comments with your theory on what brings Jo back.

Legacies Promo: A Favorite from The Vampire Diaries Returns!

Legacies is bringing back the mother of Lizzie and Josie!

The CW has released the first official teaser for Legacies Season 1 Episode 6 which focuses on Jo's return ahead of the sweet sixteen birthday party for the twins.

They grow up so fast, right?

Caroline Forbes actually gave birth to the twins in on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 13 which aired in 2016, but thanks to the jumps on both that series and The Originals, we're well into the future.

Alaric is blindsided by the return of Jo who perished at the hands of her brother, Kai, during their wedding ceremony on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21.

Jo later returned on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 when Alaric found a way to raise her from the dead. The trouble is that the soul who returned was not quite Jo.
