Storyline

As she starts dinner after a trying day, Mrs. George T. Hardnose calls her husband to say she wants to go to a movie that night; he says, nothing doing, he's tired, he's worked hard, and what has she done all day. In a series of flashbacks, we see - starting with getting George out of bed and off to work, bathing an obstreperous three year old, dealing with stopped drains and a faulty defroster, doing dishes, cajoling a rich uncle, washing clothes, mopping floors, sweeping behind heavy furniture, cleaning the stove and a rug, and cooking dinner. When George asks her after dinner to let him have the paper, she lets him have it. Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

All My Sympathy
21 June 2019 | by bobliptonSee all my reviews

A Smith called Pete narrates this short comedy about the travails of being married to David O'Brien. Having seen a lot of these shorts, one can sympathize. Miss Short mostly leaves the pratfalls to O'Brien, who also directs -- but she does a good slow burn, and keeps busy, plumbing out sinks and mopping floors in high heels, spilling things on herself and going bumpity-bump down the staircase. Pete Smith narrates in his typical snarky fashion, but it's clear that O'Brien is the butt of his scorn.

Dorothy Short and David Barclay were married when they made this movie. They were divorced four years later. Given this short subject, I'm surprised it lasted that long.
