- Things quickly descend from bad to worse for the Autobots when Detroit is menaced by new threats. Meanwhile, Ratchet remembers his first encounter with Omega Supreme and grows frustrated with his uselessness to the Autobots, all while Megatron and the Decepticons enact their plans.

Optimus squared off against Masterson (controlling Starscream's body). The two battled around the Burger Bot parking lot and surrounding streets, while Optimus tried to keep Sari and Isaac Sumdac safe. Sumdac tried to goad Masterson into pursuing him away from Sari, but when Masterson threatened to stomp on the scientist, Sari blasted the robot's leg, saving her father. Optimus engaged Masterson and the resulting fight caused the destruction of Burger Bot. Optimus chided Masterson, calling him a "n00b" and mocking his inability to transform Starscream's body into a jet. Masterson fell for the trick and tried to transform. Due to the difference in size, between Stascream's head and the Headmaster unit, Masterson's creation was crushed. As the battered Headmaster unit crashed to the ground, Starscream's body crashed into the water, disappearing beneath the surface. Captain Fanzone then arrived with a complement of Detroit police and arrested Masterson, while Sari reconciled with her father.
At Sumdac's lab, Prowl explained that the liquid metal body that Isaac found may have been a Protoform. Sari was the result of a merger between Sumdac's DNA and an infant Cybertronian, though how the Protoform arrived in Sumdac's lab remained a mystery. Their discourse was interrupted by an urgent communique from Ratchet. The medic had found Bulkhead damaged at the site of the ruined Space Bridge and Bumblebee missing. Bumblebee, transwarping randomly, appeared in space.
Elsewhere in space, Omega Supreme rematerialized and powered down, while Megatron and Starscream's head attempted to escape. Starscream's head transformed into a weak blaster of sorts, but failed to blast a way out, so Megatron decided to try to take control of Omega Supreme.
Back on Cybertron, Longarm in informed that all Space Bridges have been shut down to prevent a Decepticon invasion of Cybertron. Blurr then arrived with vital information that there was a Decepticon spy among the ranks of the Autobot Elite Guard. Blurr stated that the spy was not the suspected traitor Wasp, but rather the Decepticon Shockwave, and that a voice analysis from the Cybertron Intel Database would reveal who the spy truly was. Longarm asked if Blurr had told anyone else of this. When Blurr told him "No", Longarm attacked, revealing himself as the spy. Blurr tried to flee, but Longarm (now transformed into Shockwave), trapped Blurr in an underground tunnel, and crushed him with its walls.
In the Autobot Manufacturing Plant, Bulkhead pondered Bumblebee's fate while Ratchet worked to repair him. Sari practiced with her new-found powers and debated about Ratchet's usefulness, as opposed to the healing powers of her Key. Ratchet warned her to take things slow and gradually learn how to live as a machine, as she healed Bulkhead's injuries with her Allspark empowered Key. Again, Ratchet drifted into a flashback, where he stood before Omega Supreme's enormous head, alongside Ultra Magnus and Highbrow. Ratchet was told that Omega Supreme was a prototype weapon of mass destruction and that Arcee had planted a Fail-safe Retrieval Program, that had transferred Omega Supreme's activation codes to him. Perceptor then explained that Ratchet would not just activate the Guardian, but would serve as a mentor, because Omega Supreme has a simple processor, so that he won't have moral conflicts over his destructive missions. As a Mentor-Bot, Omega Supreme would imprint upon Ratchet, and take his command from the Mentor. Arcee was meant to be the Mentor-Bot, as she was once a teacher, but since the codes had been transferred to Ratchet, it was now his duty. Ratchet was none too pleased about mentoring a doomsday device. Ratchet chose to introduce himself to Omega Supreme as his friend.
After the flashback subsided, Bulkhead theorizes that the Plasma Dynamic Thruster that Bumblebee was holding may have transported him to another location. He then, with the help of Sari's Key used the Retrieval Beacon Generator they recovered to track Bumblebee. Ratchet lamented his lack of usefulness in the advent of the Allspark-powered Key.
In Omega Supreme, Megatron attempted and failed to hot-wire the Autobot. The Asteroids around the ship transformed into alien monsters and began to assault the vessel, reactivating Omega, who then Transwarped to a new location. Caught in the Transwarp wake, Bumblebee teleported into the midst of the monsters just after Omega Supreme disappeared.
At that moment, Bulkhead activated the recall mechanism on the Retrieval Beacon Generator, and brough back not only Bumblebee, but one of the Rock Monsters (since Bumblebee was trapped inside of the creature). Sari offered to help the Autobots battle the alien, but Optimus refused to endanger the child, though she was anxious to use her new powers. After they left to pursue the monster, Sari attempted to upgrade herself with her Key, which caused her to grow in size, as well as generating body armor and weapons all over her body.
Inside Omega Supreme, Megatron jammed Starscream's head (along with the glowing Allspark Fragment contained within) into Omega Supreme's console, allowing him to take control of the ship.
Back on Earth, the upgraded Sari arrived and used her new abilities to destroy the creature and free Bumblebee. The shattered Rock Alien's pieces arose as smaller monsters, which were quickly dispatched by Sari. Unfortunately, she failed to control her new abilities, as she is overloaded by the Key. The Autobots attempted to contain her, but she involuntarily thwarted their every effort. So much Allspark energy emanated from her body body that every object that she touched exploded.
Finally, Bumblebee tried to make contact with her, but Sari accidentally impaled him on one of her energy blades, critically damaging her friend.
