Storyline

When Sgt. Spencer is found shot in his quarters, Lt. Scott conducts a room to room search for any evidence. It looks bad for Col. Young when Scott and Eli find the murder weapon in the Colonel's room. He asks Chloe to represent him at a hearing that will be held on board. The military members of the crew are prepared to back-up their commanding officer with force if necessary but Young insists they all calm down and let the process continue. Eli manages to find conclusive evidence about what exactly happened to Spencer and who put the gun in Young's room. Knowing who is behind the deception, Young takes action. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

When finding an alien spacecraft is reported, Dr Rush talks about having two hours left until FTL and decides to visit the planet anyway. This is nonsense since they had already discovered that they could keep the Stargate open indefinitely if someone stuck their hand in it. This error was multiplied when Young claimed he barely made it back and had to leave Rush behind. Logically, the entire group could have stayed on the planet and made sure the gate stayed open until they all made it back. See more »

Great episode!
3 February 2013 | by jcruzortSee all my reviews

It seems that die-hard Stargate fans hate this show because it violates the tone and feel of the original. I trudged through the entire Stargate catalog, and although there were definitely some great episodes buried in there, most of the series came across as being Sci-fi light with all of the space travel, evil monsters, and imaginary problems caused by imaginary technology and solved by even more unlikely and imaginary tech, it lacked the depth, social commentary, and transcendence that great fiction needs. Don't get me wrong, SG1 is great if you are looking for something to watch with your kids, something entertaining but superficial. In contrast, SGU seems to have copied the tone of Battlestar and the result is a darker, grittier, and more mature show than previous Stargate offerings, as evidenced by this episode.
