In the first film, Jill Scott was in the midst of going through a divorce, just as her character was undergoing a break-up with her husband. In this one, she had just had a baby, just as her character Sheila did in this movie.
Because of her brother's death, Janet Jackson used that in the film, her anger and her emotions when she decided to break the tables with the golf clubs. Her crying was real, because of the grief that was going on. Not only that, she took some time off while making the film because of his death, so she used everything and put it into this film. For a lot of her emotional scenes, Tyler Perry wanted her to think of something sad, and unfortunately at the time she didn't know her brother had died, but afterwards she thought about Michael when she got angry, sad, and emotional, and that sometimes castmates had said she had to walk off the set because it became too much.
