Storyline

A young abuse victim runs away from home, eventually resorting to prostitution as a means of supporting herself while praying for the miracle that will steer her away from suicide and help her get started down the road to recovery. Abused by her stepfather, the young girl surmises that it's better to live on the streets than subject herself to the horrors that await her back home. But with each passing day her situation becomes increasingly dire, and after pondering the price of a miracle she decides to take her own life. At the moment of truth, however, a mysterious stranger appears before her. Could it be that her prayers have finally been answered? Written by Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

My mind wandered lonely as a cloud
15 July 2017 | by See all my reviews

It looks as if ten years after this film was made, no-one has yet posted a review if this film, so I thought that I would give it a go, not that I could find anything positive to say about it. To tell the truth, it was one of the most boring films I have ever seen. The production company is Mancuso Martin, so could this have been a pet project of Nick Mancuso, who plays Vanessa's (Candice Prentice) sort of fairy godfather? Could he have pictured himself as a knight in shining armour? Whatever the reason, the film plays out as a sort of soap about runaway Vanessa who survives on the streets until... I do not want to spoil the film for anyone who has not seen it but in all honesty, there isn't anything to spoil.

It was while half way asleep trying to follow the narrative, that I began to muse on other matters, such as 2017 being the fiftieth anniversary of the release of The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and how some of the songs could have been quite appropriate for this film; there could be She's Leaving Home, A Day in the Life, and Nick could sing When I'm Sixty Four, although bearing in mind his age when he made this film, it would have to have been, When I'm Sixty Nine, and no, that is not a Freudian slip. This is not a film that I would recommend.
